Sexual is really good - I'm glad it's had a monstrous chart run, plus it's great to see 16 and Sorry here :wub:

It's had a fine top 10 run hasn't it? I wonder if we'll hear any more from NEIKED.

Nice to see Cold Water here, it did chart in my PC too (but only bc it knocked One Dance off #1 :kink: )

Well Cold Water is the better song of the 2 IMO! Hope Ring Her Up is at least half as good.

Sexual is fantastic! One of the surprise hits of 2016 for sure but totally worthy.

Really was, still not entirely sure what made it take off so rapidly but every now & then something comes completely out of nowhere!

30. Galantis & East & Young - Make Me Feel

Total points: 324

Chart run: 21-15-11-9-10-13-12-16-16-15-19-29-33-34-38 {15 weeks}

Into the top 30 & the highest charting song from Galantis. Despite only making the top 10 for 2 weeks it had a very lengthy run, the majority of which spent in the top half.

One of the best Spinnin' Records offerings of last year came from California DJ Lincoln Jesser. All but 3 of its weeks were spent occupying the top half of the Chart.

28. Drumsound & Bassline Smith (feat. Conor Maynard) - Catch Me Here

Chart run: 32-20-4-3-2-3-4-7-13-17-26-31-34- {13 weeks}

Conor Maynard returned last year in a surprise collab with Drum & Bass stalwarts Drumsound & Bassline Smith. The song climbed all the way to #2 but was held off by DARA. D&BS has one further visit to the Chart with 'Freestyle Mambo' which only appeared for a solitary week.

27. Watermät - Empire

Total points: 340

Chart run: 9-3-4-3-3-3-3-6-15-22-40 {11 weeks}

French producer Watermät had a sizeable smash with the majestic 'Empire' which spent 5 total weeks at #3 locked behind two of the year's biggest hits. This was his only entry in the Chart last year following 2015 #1 'All My Love'.

Cold Water and Love Yourself two great efforts from Bieber :dance: Major Lazer's production is great on the former also although I prefer 'Lean On' by quite a bit.

Too Good was a bit of a choon too, good to see Sir Drake racking up those hits this year.

Wasn't big on Sexual in BJSC or even when it did chart, it just lacks oomph for me.

Make Me Feel, Baby Boy and Catch Me Here likewise did not chart for me. Empire made my top 100 but not very high, he's done better tbh. I like his new one 'Fade' quite a bit.

26. Major Lazer & MOTi (feat. Ty Dolla $ign, Wizkid, & Kranium) - Boom

Total points: 344

Chart run: 40-27-15-9-6-8-10-9-12-14-15-13-23-30-40 {15 weeks}

Major Lazer's biggest hit of the year was in fact this high profile collaboration from previous album 'Peace Is The Mission'. Comfortably all 5 acts' biggest hit, this experienced a notable feat of entering & exiting at/from the #40 position.

reckon 'Boom' could've been a top 40 hit if they hadn't moved on from the PITM era so quickly, quite a good tune.

Too Good is a great tune :wub: It's overtaken Take Care for me now in the Drake/Rihanna song rankings. Although I do prefer Work.

Sexual is a great surprise massive hit but I got bored of it very quickly

Hi Dobbo!

My faves of your top 40 so far:

16 - why on earth has this not been a single? Licensing issues I guess as this is a surefire smash

Bad - good song but even better is their remix of Different Colors by Walk The Moon, such a great mix <3

Sexual - this is so addictive, I'm amazed at how well it's done in the UK, but it's great, sounds like a Kylie hit from Body Language or something but with 2016 production!

Lots of other stuff I'm liking too though!

I think Cold Water has overtaken Lean On for me! I did hate just HOW overexposed Lean On was, really ruined it a bit for me.

I really like the vocals in Sexual, plus it's sounded different to a lot of tracks when I first came across it, never expected it to be a big UK hit tho!

I only prefer Bullit & All My Friends to Empire. Never really got into Fade, he's definitely one of the most unique producers around atm.

It's very possible, sounds the sort of thing that would be well received in clubs & feature on numerous Spotify playlists!

It's still behind Take Care for me, that really was a incredible track! Work I'd put between the two as I would with What's My Name. Basically tho, almost everything they do together is fantastic.

I only got bored of it when it started to take off officially :lol: it's always a nice surprise when songs you know of ages before take off but then when everyone's playing them they lose their charm...

Make Me Feel is a great tune, I wish they had pushed it as a single :(

Same, altho I don't think it would have fared as good as the one which came quickly after - Love On Me. For a soundtrack single it's a very strong song!

Cold Water, Love Yourself and Too Good I love <3 Bieber and Drake are the two biggest right now and these songs show just way!

They are, and add The Weeknd to the mix it feels like Canada are taking over the music world!

16 - I'm glad it got a few week in the top 75 to show the public really took to this song. It's a brilliant sample, I would like him to go for Don't Go if he pushes anything else

Bad - not heard that! I'm not a huge fan of the original but Lost Kings have impressed me enough to make me want to check it out

Sexual - yeah it's a real surprise this taking off, and how long it's stayed near the top

Thanks all!

25. Drake - Controlla

http://www.hiflistonecrest.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/drake-ft-popcaan-controlla.jpg

Total points: 351

Chart run: 26-17-16-18-14-11-7-8-19-18-16-12-25-29-37-39-35-40 {18 weeks}

Drake's highest charting lead was this extremely long-runner. Not reaching its peak until its seventh week it outlasted both 'One Dance' & 'Too Good' to crack the top YE 25. With just 'Work' left to appear how far up will it be?

24. Salvatore Ganacci (feat. Enya & Alex Aris) - Dive

Total points: 370

Chart run: 31-14-5-3-4-7-10-9-5-8-11-15- {12 weeks}

Swedish DJ Salvatore sampled Enya's 'Boadicea' & enlisted fellow countryman Alex Aris on vocal duty to produce this wonderful piece. With a very healthy top 10 stint it would have been even higher if its full chart run were considered. At least it performs better here than in BJSC!

I never fully got 'Controlla', it's a good song but I couldn't love it like other Drake songs.

'Dive' was brilliant, shame me and you were basically half its fanbase in BJSC.

23. Kungs vs Cookin’ on 3 Burners - This Girl

Total points: 372

Chart run: 22-22-9-4-5-7-7-11-10-12-13-16-26-38 {14 weeks}

The huge summer smash 'This Girl' is next up. Having entered the Chart long before it blew up it peaked relatively early but clocked up 14 weeks in total. Neither act has yet to follow up.

Kungs :wub: :wub:

I can assure you 'This Girl' will appear a lot higher in my chart :P

Although we do snap for Kungs at #23 actually, 'Don't You Know' is my #23.

22. Sigma & Rita Ora - Coming Home

Total points: 373

Chart run: -2-2-5-2-1-2-4-12-9-13-26 {11 weeks}

Sigma had a fantastic year on the Chart last year & they're still not done yet. Featuring Rita Ora this song is the only one to have actually peaked at #1 in both charting periods, returning to the summit over a full month after it's initial climb there at the back end of 2015. Despite that it suffered one of the fastest dropouts from the top 10 ever.

It probably passed the others for me as I didn't get bored of it through overplay like with the others, I do like how laidback the whole song is throughout.

Yeah it's one of my only entries to date where I was pretty disappointed by its result, sounded pretty mass appealing to my ears but ah well at least it had a few vocal fans :D

Kungs :wub: :wub:

I can definitely believe that one! It's a shame I wasn't a fan of Don't You Know, he's definitely a promising talent but that was a misfire. I Feel So Bad was quite a nice tune but didn't quite make the chart either.
