51. Riton (feat. Kah-Lo) - Rinse & Repeat

Total points: 263

Chart run: 8-9-7-4-5-11-14-19-32-38 {10 weeks}

Rounding off the bottom half of the countdown is this deep house effort from DJ Riton. Another track to spend half its run in the top 10 it just misses out on the top 50 by 5 points.

Half way through :cheer:

Yeah both of those will go down as 2 of the last heldback releases as well, good songs to hold such "honours"

Rinse and Repeat and Sweet Lovin' :dance:

Both massive bangers from the start of the year, such a shame the latter somewhat underperformed, with a more logical release and promotion strategy it could have been a big top 5!

You reckon? I'm not sure it would have lent itself well to an OA/OS release, particularly because the producer was completely unheard of. I think its release was the reason it went top 20 alone actually (ok it did plummet hard after) but there's been hardly any songs like it chart since :(

50. Hardwell & Craig David - No Holding Back

Total points: 268

Chart run: 8-4-8-11-15-18-17-19-22-31-37-34 {12 weeks}

So Craig David has managed to get 4 songs in the top 50, starting off with this Hardwell collaboration. Dropped at the same time as 'Ain't Giving Up' & initially peaking higher, it ended up in its shadow but still managed a strong 3 month run in the top 40.

The next #1 to appear belongs to X Factor 2015 runners-up RnB. After debuting in the top 3 it climbed to #1, knocking off 'The Sound Of Silence'. As with 'Sing Me To Sleep' it only managed a 10-week run hence why it isn't further up the countdown.

48. Yall (feat. Gabriela Richardson) - Hundred Miles

Total points: 269

Chart run: 25-12-6-8-8-11-14-16-23-31-35-35-40 {13 weeks}

Spanish trio Yall earned a huge debut hit with the superbly catchy 'Hundred Miles' which impacted the Chart right back towards the beginning of the year. This was a song I really thought could crack the UK but alas, no such luck with this one.

47. Mike Posner - I Took A Pill In Ibiza (Seeb Remix)

Total points: 271

Chart run: 3-4-8-7-11-17-17-19-27-37-37-35-40 {13 weeks}

One of the biggest hits of the year took a rather long time to find its way onto this Chart but it made up for lost time, spending a quarter of the year in the top 40. In terms of official UK #1 singles, there are 4 which are yet to appear, 2 from 2015 & 2 from 2016.

Rinse And Repeat is one of my favourite dance songs of the year. It will probably finish at a similar position in my end of year chart. Love the vocals on this one in particular.

New Girl was decent but it got boring fairly quickly. I haven't heard their 2nd single yet, I hope it's good.

I Took A Pill In Ibiza is a brilliant song too. Much better than his other big hit. Overplay has ruined it slightly though.

Hi Dobbo

It took a while for I Took a Pill in Ibiza to grow on me too and for a while I was really enjoying it but it definitely started to feel old after a while. I'm glad it's not being played on radio 24/7 anymore like at the beginning of the year.

Youth is actually a pretty gorgeous track too, shame he's not broken into the mainstream so much and is still a bit reliant on his YouTube fanbase but I'm glad he's slowly turning into a more serious pop star too, the material is definitely there, it's just hard to shake off the label I think and be taken seriously!

:D

A whole host of good tracks there! ITAPII was a former #1 of mine, it did get boring after a while though. Hundred Miles & New Girl are still both great tunes :music:
So much love for YOUTH, what a beauty of a song! :wub: Troye is one of the best artists around right now for me, I really wish he was getting more commercial success in the UK! :(

Time for a bit of a catch up methinks!

Yeah it was a big standout this year, their new one just don't even compare either.

Their 2nd single is terrible unfortunately :lol: ah well they gave us one jam at least!

Agreed on Ibiza although I do revisit Cooler Than Me on occasion.

It did get old whilst it was in the Charts for ages but I rekindled my love for it recently, which is good!

It would be good to see Troye have some sort of breakthrough, I was worried Happy Little Pill was a fluke but he's backed it up with some other great songs, none more so than this one.

Glad Mike Posner made a comeback with 'I Took A Pill In Ibiza' its such a Jam :heart:

Yeah it is! Maybe now he'll be a 2-hit wonder :kink:

Hundred Miles was the UK hit that never was! Seriously it sounded so on trend with 2016 I'm surprised it didn't get picked up by radio :o

I must admit I've been impressed by a lot of his output, certainly has the potential to be a huge star but it's a tough business. Maybe 2017 is his year!

I Took A Pill In Ibiza was a big 2016 highlight, it'll make a good impression in my EOY.

I have a huge deal of reading thru people's Charts to do :lol: hope it's nice & high!

46. DJ Kenno - Will Grigg's On Fire

Total points: 276

Chart run: 4-6-6-8-10-11-13-22-26-30-39 {11 weeks}

Riding off the back of the football chant that went viral in the Summer this studio version managed a surprisingly long run in the Chart, with 5 weeks in the top 10, technically meaning this is Blonde's highest entry on the Chart. From what it looks like this season, he doesn't appear to be on fire any more.

Total points: 277

Chart run: 2-2-4-11-12-15-16-23-21-30-38 {11 weeks}

One of the big surprises of the year was this fantastic debut solo track from 1D's Zayn, which shot straight to #2 in its first week on the Chart behind 'Say You Do'. His only other appearance in the top 40 this year was featuring on Snakehips' 'Cruel' which falls well short of the top 100.

44. Galantis & Hook N Sling - Love On Me

Total points: 280

Chart run: 9-8-5-5-6-3-5-7- {8 weeks}

The first of 3 three appearances from Swedish dance outfit Galantis, all managing to crack the top 50. Indeed, this would most likely be the highest one if its full eventual run was considered, giving that it spent its first 2 months within the top 10. Peaking at #3, it matched 2015's 'Peanut Butter Jelly' which ultimately finished in last EOY's top 10.

completely didn't get the Will Griggs song as I'm not at all into football. didn't like Pillowtalk either. :(

Love On Me was great, though I didn't love it half as much as you clearly, although No Money was massive on my chart.
