39. Craig David - 16

Total points: 291

Chart run: 8-3-3-2-1-2-8-10- {8 weeks}

The third appearance of Craig David in the countdown, this time an album track from 'Following My Intuition'. Sampling a former #1 on this Chart 'Where Are Ü Now' it also climbed to the top to displace his own song 'Ain't Giving Up'. It's run was cut short as it only dropped out in the current week!

38. Justin Bieber - Sorry

Total points: 295

Chart run: -9-11-13-12-9-8-9-13-12-25-36-40 {12 weeks}

The highest song on this countdown that also made last years' list (albeit only just). A former 2-week #1 that stretched a further 3 months into this year comes courtesy of the Bieb who still has 2 more songs to appear.

Sorry is still a total jam for me - its epic longevity helped that, I think - although strangely for a song that hung about forever in the charts I never really (and still haven't) got bored of it.

16 is awesome, love the incoorporation of Jack U into it, and the rap is very solid too, still a jam also. Was a shame to see it couldn't become a hit officially because of the single choice mess :(

37. Lost Kings (feat. Jessame) - Bad

Total points: 296

Chart run: 17-10-8-6-5-11-10-10-19-26-33 {11 weeks}

The second appearance from Lost Kings & comfortably the highest performing, charting right back at the end of 2015 & peaking within the top 5 a month later.

36. Martin Solveig (feat. Tkay Maidza)- Do It Right

Total points: 296

Chart run: 19-5-3-2-2-9-14-12-29-31-29 {11 weeks}

Martin Solveig's only appearance in the chart last year and only his second ever following '+1'. This climbed all the way to #2 but couldn't oust Clean Bandit off the top.

Neither did I really! Both What Do You Mean & Love Yourself started to tire much quicker than Sorry. Love Yourself will appear highest in the countdown but that's only because it's whole run was counted.

Yeah absolutely love me some 16. I think I do prefer Where Are U Now but this was a genius sample, together with lyrics from Fill Me In :music:

Sir Stormzy in the top 40 *_ oi rudeboy shut up!!! (SHUT UP!!) :music:

Do It Right :wub: That spent ages in my chart so expect it to be very high up my EOY.

Shut Up is one of the best tunes of recent times. :wub: It beating X Factor in the chart last year was such a moment. I hope his album does well if it gets released this year like it's meant to.

Sorry was the only of the 3 Bieber smashes that I enjoyed. It's just so fun and lively. :wub:

Sorry is excellent, I never really got bored of it, was so great to see him getting smash after smash at long last with the Purpose era :wub:

Do It Right is pretty great too, really surprised it didn't get given a shot by Radio 1 :(

I haven't heard Do It Right but it features Tkay Maidza and I love her so I need to !!

Sorry is still a tune <33

Yeah it's a brilliant track, didn't expect her vocals to sound so good on a Solveig track but they really elevate it!

It sure is :dance:

State your name cuz! What a moment that was when it peaked in the top 10 *_*

I would imagine it would be a top 10 contender for you perhaps? It would be very deserving if so!

Oh yeah I was celebrating wildly! I'm still yet to be fully on board as it's only really Sorry I've ever loved from him whereas other artists like Skepta I've liked 4 or 5 songs from. I would like an album tho

It's definitely the best of the 3 yeah, will never get bored of it.

& he was an artist I had no shame in admitting liking even pre-Purpose. Some of his stuff on Believe was excellent too but I think this album definitely took him to another level!

Yeah that was a surprise, he proved he could still get a big hit as seen with Intoxicated but I guess +1 flopping didn't really help matters :/

35. Major Lazer (feat. Justin Bieber & MØ) - Cold Water

Total points: 297

Chart run: 5-4-5-9-9-15-21-22-30-28-28-30-31-40 {14 weeks}

The huge summer smash 'Cold Water' appears next, the second highest official #1 in the countdown. Whilst this is all we'll see from MØ here, Major Lazer & Justin Bieber still have a song each left to emerge.

Chart run: 3-1-1-4-5-5-13-18-31-38-33-36 {12 weeks}

The second of Drake's appearances & first from Rihanna, this follow-up to 'One Dance' managed to achieve what that couldn't, climbing to the top for 2 weeks. It did fall relatively quickly for a #1 & this is not the last we'll see from either artist in the countdown.

33. Mirror Talk - 1/M/T

Total points: 307

Chart run: 21-14-11-6-5-7-6-11-12-25-32-36-40 {13 weeks}

American New Wave band Mirror Talk achieved a huge smash at the beginning of the year with one of my favourite ever BJSC discoveries, going on to rack up 13 straight weeks in the top 40.

32. Justin Bieber - Love Yourself

Total points: 307

Chart run: 6-3-1-1-5-9-11-17-17-33 {10 weeks}

The final JB appearance & highest official #1 in the list, 'Love Yourself' followed in 'Sorry's' footsteps by climbing to #1 for a fortnight. It's 6 weeks in the top 10 making up for it's swift exit thereafter.

Loving the double Bieber here! Love Yourself appeared in last year's EOY for me so won't be in this year's too but Cold Water is in my top 20, a fantastic track, my favourite thing from Major Lazer so far (although Light It Up comes close I must say).

31. NEIKED (feat. Dyo) - Sexual

Total points: 312

Chart run: 18-12-10-11-17-36-X-38-15-13-9-11-15-25-33-40 {15 weeks}

Swedish DJ NEIKED appears next with a track that spent 2 separate stints in the Chart, peaking upon its return. It's second run not only put it in the running but pushed it all the way to just outside the top 30.

Sexual is really good - I'm glad it's had a monstrous chart run, plus it's great to see 16 and Sorry here :wub:
