10. Aurora – All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k150/Harry_Flynn/Cover%20sleeves/All_My_Demons_Greeting_Me_as_a_Friend_zpsaa25tv4c.jpg

Album Chart Run: All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend [9-4-2-3-3-1-5-7-7-9-12-13-14-15] (14 Weeks)

Singles Chart History

2015: Half The World Away [21-21-32] (3 Weeks)

2016: Conqueror [39-34-28-35] (4 Weeks)

I Say: "Here is an album I was not expected to fall in love with but I did and it is glorious. Her vocals are so soft and chilled out which is perfectly shown on 'Through The Eyes Of A Child' and 'Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)'. This for me is this year's underrated gem of an artist she should have got more success and more acclaim for her as she has produced such a astoning and haunting album. I am going to keep an eye out for this girl in the future for sure".

Top 5 songs from album

1. Through The Eyes Of A Child

2. Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)

3. Half The Word Away

4. Running With The Wolves

5. Conqueror

9.Shawn Mendes – Illuminate

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k150/Harry_Flynn/Cover%20sleeves/Shawn-Mendes-Illuminate-2016-2480x2480_zpsm0o284jl.jpg

Album Chart Run: Shawn Mendes – Illuminate [1-2-2-5-5-5-3-4-6-8-8-8] (12 Weeks)*

Singles Chart History

2016: Treat You Better [8-3-2-1-1-1-2-4-6-8-11-14-17-24-35] (15 Weeks)

2016: Mercy [23-17-13-5-3-4-7] (7 Weeks)*

* = Still In Chart

I Say: "The second full studio album left me so much hype after hearing the truly amazing 'Treat You Better' and the great follow up 'Mercy'. However the album is so good and I would say the perfect time to listen to this album is in the bath or just before bed. Not because it is boring because it is a relaxing listen and that each song perfectly flows into the next. If I had one improvement I would have liked a couple more upbeat songs on the albums. However, the album for what it is is a 09/10 for me which is excellent which reaches 9 in my album EOY".

Top 5 songs from album

1. Treat You Better

2. Don't Be A Fool

3. Mercy

4. No Promises

5. Honest

8. Christine + The Queens – Chaleur Humaine

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k150/Harry_Flynn/Cover%20sleeves/CTQ_zps5goafdda.jpg

Album Chart Run: Chaleur Humaine [1-3-3-2-4-5-4-4-6-7-9-11-13-13-15] (15 Weeks)

Singles Chart History

2016: Tilted [19-5-2-2-4-1-2-4-4-6-9-13-16-23-28-37] (15 Weeks)

2016: Saint Claude [33-29-23-18-8] (5 Weeks)*

* = Still In Chart

I Say: "Flashback a year ago and I liked Christine but didn't know much about her and I did not think much of her. This year however she has risen up from nowhere to be one of the most unique artists out there. Her lyrics and songs are very different than what most pop or indie artists are doing. For example in titled she has kept the french rap in. She does not want to the same she wants to known for being different and her own individuality. Both 'Tilted' and 'Science Fiction' showcase this perfectly that she is a rising star to look out for in terms of innovating the music scene".

Top 5 songs from album

1. Tilted/Christine

2. Science Fiction

3. iT

4. Saint Claude

5. No Harm Is Done feat Tunji Ige

Hi Haz

I also loved Illuminate although I do wish it had a few more uptempo track. The likes of TYB and Stitches are definitely his best tracks so I wish there were some more similar tracks to those. However, he has a lovely voice which shines on all the tracks and there are still loads of catchy tracks. He's also like my #1 celeb crush atm omg *-*

Not listened to the Aurora album but all of her singles have been great so far, Conqueror and I Went Too Far have such strong hooks and she has a great voice too. Shame she isn't catching on more with the general public :(

Hi Josh,

First of all yes at the shawn crush I have a big celeb crush on him at the moment so handsome and hot  Secondly yes I agree the album could have done with more upbeat numbers but all round it was so good and so cased what a beautiful voice Shawn has

Her singles were good and she does have a lovely voice just a shame she never broke out in terms of sales :(

Christine & the Queens :D Tilted really grew on me, too late to enter my personal chart though. I'm delighted it did so well in the official charts though :D

TOP 10 FOR 2017 - 9

I am taking a little break from the album countdown to bring a tip for 2017 and this time it is the turn of 31 year old Roy Graham aka his stage name Rag'n'Bone Man who is from East Sussex. He first broke out into the scene in 2011 but it wasn't until 2014 till he was starting to get proper regonition. He has released two EP'S 2014's 'Wolves' EP which featured collaborations with Vince Staples and Kate Tempest. In 2015 he released his second EP 'Disfigured' EP which featured 'Bitter End' which was playlisted by Radio 1 and Radio 1xtra. In July 2016 he released 'Human' which was not a hit at the time. It wast until November/December where it had a resurgence and became a hit which is now at #2 in the UK Singles Chart.

Three tracks you need to hear of his:

Human

Bitter End

Hell Yeah feat Vince Staples

Rag'n'Bone Man is a really exciting talent I think, can't wait to hear his album next year!

I will wait for more material first till I get excited tbh

I wish I had listened to all of those albums :(

We had the same singles N.1 last year

Hello Harry, merry Christmas!

Yay at Lemonade doing so well here, I love how personal a lot of the tracks are too and it has produced some of her most iconic lyrics yet. The collaborations are all pretty fantastic too, I didn't think the Jack White one would be my favourite of the lot but it is just so fierce and angry

I listened to Blurryface once but didn't really go back to it much even though I did enjoy it. The singles have been fantastic though (apart from Lane Boy which hasn't really hit me) so I hope we get some more fantastic stuff from them soon!

I might actually have to check out some of Rag'n'Bone Man's other stuff for whilst I really don't like Human I get the impression he could win me over with other stuff (kinda like Hozier did with Someone New).
I totally feel you re: Blurryface, at the moment mine is Lane Boy too but as with 21p in general if you asked me to choose one it'd be like having to choose a child to save
It's lovely to see you chart Blurryface so high - and yes, I totally get you. The consistency of twenty one pilots is rather abnormal for an indie band, they're the only band (apart from Bastille maybe) that I can confidently say I like every song by them. The whole album is so brilliant, it came 3rd in my countdown :D

Hi Dobbo,

I think he could do even you should check out the human rudimental remix!

I Say: "In 2015 we had two singles at the start of the year than nothing till the beginning of 2016 and it was worth the wait this album was. Its so chilled and so indie pop. The top 5 songs from this album are really strong and songs like 2Shy and Touch have grown on me loads despite only peaking low 20's in the singles chart. I would certainly made them higher if they had been released this time of year. Overall great debut from Shura "
