December 11, 20168 yr Most on Digital Spy are saying it's rubbish, boring as hell. Most of them are rabid Saara fans so they'd say that regardless of what the song sounded like I expect
December 11, 20168 yr Most on Digital Spy are saying it's rubbish, boring as hell.Digital Spy are negative about everything so I wouldn't take there judgement so seriously :P
December 11, 20168 yr That winning single is SO dull. It doesn't really feel right for Matt and it wouldn't be right for Saara either. It's like a song Ed Sheeran toyed around with, threw out and they've rooted through the bins to find the sheet music and steal it  As for Matt winning, I'm not mad really I'm just gutted for Saara :/ I am so so happy that she even got to second because as we've all said she screamed first boot, but for her to come so close and fall at the last hurdle, while I thought she could win, is disappointing. Matt is good, I don't dislike him, but yet again being a generic white boy with a decent enough voice and nothing unique triumphs over an exciting, interesting female. I'm happy for Matt but I really wanted Saara to write the last page of her story. I think that's why it felt anti-climactic which I do agree with Martyn, I was so pumped for a great ending to this story and it's just "oh the good looking guy won lol bye". I also felt like Matt didn't fight for it, like he thought he was going to win or expected it. I didn't feel that fire or passion that Saara exuded every time she sang.
December 11, 20168 yr Saara won both the two weeks before the final. The momentum was in her favour but she threw it away with those song choices for the final.
December 11, 20168 yr Matt topped the vote weeks 1-3 Emily week 4 Matt week 5 5 After Midnight week 6 Matt week 7 Saara week 8 and 9
December 11, 20168 yr Saara won both the two weeks before the final. The momentum was in her favour but she threw it away with those song choices for the final. I feel like the producers had more than a hand in her downfall.
December 11, 20168 yr Ugh it's gonna sting so much more when the final margin is like 2% lmao. If she'd sang Winner Takes It All she would've won :/
December 11, 20168 yr Turns out Saara was never bottom 2 at any point in the series, she was 3rd last in Week 1,2 and 5 but failed to win the lifeline vote.
December 11, 20168 yr Saara had the most votes last night when the votes froze ! :o she really didn't help herself with her song choices tonight also Matt only JUST beat 5AM last night as well ! Edited December 11, 20168 yr by troylovesmusic
December 11, 20168 yr Author Saara was winning (just) as the vote freeze but Matt picked up the majority of 5AM voters as we expected. http://www.itv.com/xfactor/news/voting-stats-2016
December 11, 20168 yr Ryan not actually bottom 2 in the vote in weeks 3 and 4, so the lifeline vote wasn't quite as ridiculous as people were thinking! Not last in the vote at any point, even on the week he went home :drama:
December 11, 20168 yr This just proves they really shouldn't bring the flash vote back next season! But then again, we wouldn't have got the bottom 2 performances that we did from Saara... so...
December 11, 20168 yr Saara won both the two weeks before the final. The momentum was in her favour but she threw it away with those song choices for the final. I think something has to be said as well for Matt's rebound effect following his bottom two in the semis. He topped the vote five times so clearly had a solid fanbase, and that support being forced to mobilise going into the final was the best thing that could've happened to him. Fair to say 'It's Oh So Quiet' wasn't the wisest choice to clinch the win from him though.
December 11, 20168 yr Author I just want to know when Matt passed Saara in the vote. Was it during those extra 2 million votes that came in overnight (5AM's supporters) or was it during the other 1.5 million votes that came in during the Sunday show (wrong song choice for Saara?). I'm presuming it probably happened overnight so Saara was fighting a losing battle in tonight's show. Saara was also 2nd in week 3's vote so it wasn't a strange a choice as we may have thought and she didn't absolutely dominate week 8 and week 9 so it wasn't as slam dunk for reprising those two as we may have thought. That said, I do think a Winner Takes It All reprise could have got in within a couple of percent but then again that would have been even more agonising had she missed out.
December 11, 20168 yr Damn, can't believe Saara was ahead after last night. What a crazy choice of song It's Oh So Quiet was for the final  To be fair he won by quite a convicing margin tonight and was more consistent throughout by far but it's a shame Saara just killed off her momentum at the last minute. I guess more casual viewers were watching tonight though too seeing as it was the final result and a lot of those might not have known Saara's 'story' or 'got her'.
December 11, 20168 yr Gifty and Relley had more votes than 4OD the weeks they left and Ryan had more votes than Honey G but ironically the judges didn't put it to deadlock? Bit of a joke tbh..
December 11, 20168 yr 4OD ironically not bottom the week they went after being bottom the three weeks prior.
