Posted December 6, 20168 yr 163 HITS. ONE NUMBER ONE. ONE YEAR. Feel free to hype, and speculate whether this'll be finished or not. Edited December 19, 20168 yr by christmdhas
December 6, 20168 yr Author Let's begin with albums... on the whole, this year was impeccable for albums, yet although four of my top ten albums weren't actually released this year, we still have an incredibly strong list with ten very relevant artists on. Here goes! Surprisingly only one of the top ten is primarily female, which is a surprise to me. 10. Sia - This Is Acting FAVE SONG - Cheap Thrills - We begin with Sia's most recent album. This has produced so many gems, from the incredible Alive, in all its soaring, euphoric glory, to the massive Cheap Thrills, of which entails the completely ridiculous but so infectious vocals of Sean Paul himself. There are so many highlights of this album, Sia has managed to perfect the art of being pop and mainstream, yet having an immense level of talent and originality that makes her so unique in the 2016 pop scene. - That's why this album stood out to me, not tryhard, but just a selection of high quality songs that all provide a striking message and tell a story, contrary to a large majority of pop-stars these days! Let's hope 2017 is just as good as this year has been for her. 9. Parade Of Lights - Feeling Electric FAVE SONG - Feeling Electric - You probably are aware of this band. They're the guys behind my BJSC hit 'Feeling Electric' (omg no way!?) and they're so nice to just listen to on a sunny day when you're feeling at one with the world. I'm not gonna lie, some of their lyrics are basic (and I mean Charlie Puth basic ;o) but at the end of the day they're just a bit of fun, and that's what stuck out to me when I first discovered them. They don't take themselves too seriously and they encourage positivity. - If you like synths and upbeat, poppy indie then this band is great, although they do seem like somewhat of a one hit wonder, considering they've release no music since this masterful piece. 8. Justin Bieber - Purpose FAVE SONG - Sorry - You'll see this guy in the singles countdown, but as this album was released in 2015 it's not with a phresh tune, but still a banger. Justin Bieber. The king of comebacks. You may not like him, but you can't deny his ability to drop some pretty solid, catchy vocals over a track and thus forth spend multiple weeks at number one with said track. He's great, in my opinion. He's obviously a totally changed guy and you can tell - the humbling vocals in Sorry and harsh-yet-polite Love Yourself set the scene for the rest of the album, where you see more matured, refined numbers like I'll Show You, and overall it's just a great album. - After 'What Do You Mean?', I was so hyped for this album and it didn't disappoint at all - a selection of huge, feel good tunes that you can sing along to, and he deserves this #8 position.
December 7, 20168 yr This Is Acting has some gems on it! Cheap Thrills is my favourite, but Move Your Body was good when overplay made Cheap Thrills boring
December 7, 20168 yr Author This Is Acting has some gems on it! Cheap Thrills is my favourite, but Move Your Body was good when overplay made Cheap Thrills boring  Oh yes, they are both big, I've never tired of Cheap Thrills, though.
December 7, 20168 yr Author 7. The Weeknd - STARBOY FAVE SONG - I Feel It Coming - Well this hasn't even been out two weeks, and it's already somehow found itself on my top 10 list, coming in at number seven. I guess, in essence, this album is just spectacular. Catchy, beautiful, by no means innovative but the simplicity of it on the whole just makes for such a smooth and seamless listen. From the sweet I Feel It Coming all the way through to the dark, pessimistic All I Know, this album is very near perfection. - My one complaint is that I kind of needed and wanted more tracks like Often and the pre-BBTM teaser King Of The Fall, his rapping skills are tame but lovable, and I really hope we get that from the next era, as he's gone pure-R&B pop for this era, which isn't a bad thing. 6. Ou Est Le Swimming Pool - The Golden Year FAVE SONG - Dance The Way I Feel - Another band I only got into in Q2/3, it's Ou Est Le Swimming Pool with what is possibly one of the best albums ever released, by anyone. I can't comprehend what this album means to me, it was a favourite of my dads when it came out because of the Pet Shop Boys style synths and vocals, and I guess I kind of forgot about them then. I'll tell the full story of my recoupling with them when I get to DTWIF in my main countdown, which is, by the way, INSANE. As are all the others on this album. - I'm listening to it now and it's just so perfect, it could have easily been my #1 if I hadn't accounted the fact it's over 5 years old, but it is most certainly worthy of this #6 place, and I wouldn't be surprised if it pops up in next years album top 10 lol. 5. The Chainsmokers - Collage FAVE SONG - Closer - YAY. This album is kind of an umbrella term for their whole succesful 2016 era, which has contained so many gems for me. It all started with Roses, which is a beautiful dance piece that deserved so much more chart-wise. Then there's Inside Out, which is gentle and forgiving but still a bop. And then we see Don't Let Me Down, Setting Fires and All We Know, which are all massive tunes, ones that I'll always have time to listen to. Finally, there's the big one, Closer, a massive hit featuring the vocals of one of my favourite solo females - Halsey. It's huge, the drop is breathtaking, need I say more? - I really hope they continue to release such immense music like this EP/LP/Short album thing, because they're easily my favourite DJ's, and have the potential to stay relevant for a long time.
December 8, 20168 yr Author 4. Craig David - Following My Intuition FAVE SONG - 16 - What an amazing year Craig has had. It started with the huge garage hit When The Bassline Drops which is still sounding so good, and then it transfered to his seemingly new staple sound, tropical house. Lots of nice vibes from the likes of Nothing Like This and Ain't Giving Up, both of which were all over the airwaves for a large period of summer 2016. Speaking of Summer '16, that leads us on nicely to the amazing rehash of Fill Me In - 16. A classic rapped at 2x speed over a Skrillex song? God yes, it works in my book. - This is just such a strong, fun comeback, and I'd even argue that it's his best material to date. I just wish his label knew a bit more about the art of PICKING A SINGLE AND STICKING WITH IT, because the Change My Love/16/All We Needed mess has kind of ruined any chance of either of those three being a hit.
December 8, 20168 yr Author OUR TOP 10 SO FAR... 10. Sia - This Is Acting 9. Parade Of Lights - Feeling Electric 8. Justin Bieber - Purpose 7. The Weeknd - STARBOY 6. Ou Est Le Swimming Pool - The Golden Year 5. The Chainsmokers - Collage 4. Craig David - Following My Intuition OUR TOP 3 (in alphabetical order, not ranking :P)... Bastille - Wild World Glass Animals - How To Be A Human Being twenty one pilots - Blurryface WHO WILL BE #1? FIND OUT SOON.
December 8, 20168 yr Starboy is a brilliant album. On the whole, I think it's a much better album that Beauty Behind The Madness but the singles are nowhere near as good as Often, Can't Feel My Face or The Hills. Following My Intuition is the most disappointing album of the year for me. I found it very dull, there needed to be more urban bangers like When The Bassline Drops.
December 8, 20168 yr Can't say I've heard much out of any of those three albums, obviously I know the title tracks though and all are good :D Looking forward to finding out what is #1
December 8, 20168 yr I've listened to This Is Acting, Starboy and Following My Intuition This Is Acting [7.5] Starboy [8.5] Following My Intuition [7.5]
December 9, 20168 yr Only listened to This Is Acting and Purpose out of the albums so far but both are really good. Never imagined I'd enjoy a Justin Bieber album so much but he really turned into an adult star this era with some really banging songs that are far to irresistible not to enjoy. Sorry has definitely been my favourite but I really enjoyed Company too, a bit gutted that never became a hit whatsoever when WDYM and LY aren't half as good imo :( Hoping for a Wild World win out of the top three! Despite liking the singles, I never really enjoyed Blurryface. Looking forward to the reveal, mdh! :D

Hey Lewis :D It's a really good album, I prefer it on the whole. Have to agree about the last comment apart from CFMF, but Often and The Hills are both incredible. It's really good in my eyes, I can see why you wouldn't like it though. Would have done with a bit more garage tbh.

Maturity = good music. Yep, the reveal will be tonight :D

December 9, 20168 yr Author 3. twenty one pilots - Blurryface FAVE SONG - Not Today - Here we are! We can eliminate one album from the top three battle, and that album is Blurryface by twenty one pilots - and yes I know it's from last year, but as the massive stan I am I've been enjoying it so much I just HAD to include it in my countdown ;o. THere are just so many gems on this album, the transition since Vessel by top is so nice to see, and even if their music is noticeably more morbid and a lot more negative on the whole, I can still jam out to nearly all the tracks on here :D - My favourites are Hometown, Not Today, and Holding On To You - as you may notice they are all some of the most upbeat tracks on the album, but I do enjoy the more downbeat tracks too - such as the singles Stressed Out (which has kinda got on my nerves since it got mainstream tbh, but I still like it a lot) and Lane Boy. I really hope they come up with a new album for next year, I just NEED some more top, the unrelated to album singles Cancer and Heathens were not enough ;) ───────────────────────────────────── So the top 2 is... Glass Animals - How To Be A Human Being Bastille - Wild World Place your bets on the #1 ;)
December 9, 20168 yr Predicting Bastille for #1!! Purpose is definitely my favourite album in this list, what a fantastic album  I must admit, I think Believe is still my favourite of his, but all three of his albums are great in their own individual way! (although My Worlds won't be to everyone's taste )
December 9, 20168 yr Author 2. Glass Animals - How To Be A Human Being FAVE SONG - Youth http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/3/JPG_250/MI0004/101/MI0004101703.jpg - Where do I start with this album? I first got into this band when hearing LIfe Itself on Radio 1 in the car, instantly I feel in love with it and it became the soundtrack to my summer. Then Youth came along. What an amazing song. Slightly whiny vocals and a perfect backing makes an amazing song in this instance. I delved deeper into this band and saw they had a new album coming out, this. It did not let me down - full of so many great bops and bangers that all tell a story through their noticeable British indie twang. - This is very deserved of my number two spot, although it only came out in September it's already made a lasting impression on me - enough to catapult it to number two in my albums of the year list, and it would be the number one if it wasn't for an easy winner - Bastille. Poplar Street, Youth, Life Itself, and that other one I've forgotten the name of are my faves from here, let's hope they continue to make great tunes and flourish as a band! One day they will be big, mark my words. 1. Bastille - Wild World FAVE SONG - Warmth - This is one of the best albums I've ever listened to. I has massive expectations that I assumed would understandably not be fulfilled prior to the release of Wild World - Bad Blood was an immense album and the All This reboot was even better - so I would be pleased with something that's even a fraction as good as it, right? I was blown away. Every. Single. Song. Is. Amazing. There's just no weak element. I saw them on tour about a month later, too, it was the best night of my life. Bastille are just so good and I don't even have anything to say about this album apart from wow. - My favourite track is Warmth - the rock influences towards the end and the moving vocals just get me every single time. Ugh. IERJHTUBFDNSJKOPWeirjthgb. I love them so much! They're #1 and they deserve it, and Wild World will always have a place in my heart, it's helped me through some bad times. <3 - So. So. Good.
