December 9, 20169 yr I can't say this with 100% certainty but I know there was a period of time where downloads only counted if a physical was in production too - when the physical got deleted, the downloads stopped counting (hence Gnarls Barkley falling out of the entire chart from the top 10, for example), so I guess they didn't have a physical being produced at the time and therefore couldn't chart! :o EDIT: ah looks like I was right going by N-S's post! Correct, and The Pogues rereleased a physical in 2005-06 to get round this! On a similar discussion - why did the Xmas tracks peak so low in 2010, can't remember myself - I assume it was due to the higher downloading sales by then?
December 9, 20169 yr I've got no idea :kink: CDs existed but less people had CD players so yes it woulda been records/tapes - cd sales rose hugely after 1992!
December 9, 20169 yr Does it? What's the intended meaning? (I'm really glad about that haha, makes me like it even more) In his Christmas podcast, musical comedian Mitch Benn commented that "f*****" was Irish and Liverpudlian slang for a lazy person, and was unrelated to the derogatory term for homosexuals.[18] - Wikipedia

December 9, 20169 yr Just realised that 4 weeks ago, there were 6 new entries in the chart, and now The Mack is the only one left :o

December 9, 20169 yr Correct, and The Pogues rereleased a physical in 2005-06 to get round this! On a similar discussion - why did the Xmas tracks peak so low in 2010, can't remember myself - I assume it was due to the higher downloading sales by then? The Pogues' physical release was in 2005, and in 2006 there were still enough remaining copies to add up to the downloads, making it still chart elegible.
December 9, 20169 yr Correct, and The Pogues rereleased a physical in 2005-06 to get round this! The 2005 re-release was to raise money for the Justice for Kirsty campaign. Edited December 9, 20169 yr by zenon
