December 9, 20169 yr Author Judging by previous years, this will be the last playlist update before Christmas. As if I doubted that they'd A-list Adele or Emeli  disapointed they've removed MØ already, but I'm pleased we have a Drake-free playlist for Christmas. And what is their obsession with Starboy?! A 12th straight week on the A-list, when I Feel It Coming has also been on the A-list for the past three weeks  I'm baffled that they haven't added Naughty Boy. Will they add him after Christmas now or are they just going to snub him? I'm equally baffled that they've added Professor Green, especially this late in the day, thought they would support Naughty Boy over him. Edited December 9, 20169 yr by Mango
December 9, 20169 yr The Weeknd still getting double A list, while Little Mix's more successful song taken off the A list and Touch only added to the C list. R00d.
December 9, 20169 yr I hope we get a new playlist next week but I suppose it's a pointless week and we won't get back to normal until Monday 2/1/17 and even then it'll be with stand in djs until the following week. Funny to see the current LM track pushed out for the new one while they continue to be fascinated with playing two The Weeknd tracks. Pity they won't put Sillouettes on as a double A side and play his Xmas track too, although I can see him doing a Xmas live lounge and them playing it a lot then :). Good that Breathing Underwater is in the A List - really enjoying that track at the moment - sounds quite seasonal!

I presume you're only saying the Little Mix song is more successful because it got to #1 while The Weeknd didn't? Otherwise, I think it's very hard to claim that Starboy has been less successful. Probably one of the biggest singles worldwide over the last few months and still consistently high on Spotify.
December 9, 20169 yr Starboy still being on the A list is ridiculous really, who doesn't already know it pretty well at this point  I'd be very surprised if Naughty Boy got snubbed! Hopefully that's coming after the freeze, would probably be swallowed up at this point anyway. Delighted to see Shed a Light, Touch, I Would Like and Silhouette all added

It also spent the double amount of time on the A-list. Enough is enough.

Otherwise, I think it's very hard to claim that Starboy has been less successful. Probably one of the biggest singles worldwide over the last few months and still consistently high on Spotify. Well, it also spent 3 weeks at #1, and was one of the fastest selling singles of the year, SOTME came out like a month later, and isn't that far behind on sales. Either way though, you're missing my point. It's not The Weeknd, but Radio 1 in questioning. I'm a big fan of Starboy and have had IFIC on repeat all week. What I'm saying is that it makes less sense for Little Mix to only get 6 weeks on the A list and is taken off so that Touch can only go onto the C list when Weeknd has two songs on the A list, one of which has been there for ages. Little Mix are one of the most successful acts in the UK right now, their album is selling by the bucketload. Touch will make the A list eventually, so I don't see why it can't have the same instant support as male artists.
December 9, 20169 yr It's because The Weeknd is seen as a more credible artist by radio 1. Well exactly, but if a 'less credible' song is going to end up on the A list for weeks anyway, why not just get a move on.
December 9, 20169 yr Wish Nevada and Adele would get taken off instead of MØ and Drake That's a first... I'm quite glad Fake Love is off already actually. Poor MØ tho :( good to see I Would Like added

December 9, 20169 yr I Would Like  Touch is on there as well :cheer: I don't even know what it sounds like, just want it to enter high in the charts :,)
