No Gaga top 40 in the singles or albums, that's tragic! Shame cos Joanne is so so so much better than Artpop.

Lady Gaga may not be top 40 but the album has had a decent climb.

Katie Melua and Nathan Skyes holding much better in the chart than i believed they would, likewise Kylie is higher in the albums this week than expected which is a positive sign for the coming week as she has promotion lined up.

Another strong week for Little Mix in both chart but its wonderful to see both their albums still selling strongly.

Mariah Carey :o

Hit Astley staying stable in the top 30! :cheer:

Just goes to show you how little sales matter nowadays when Gaga has been top 10 nearly the entire week and ends up at #60.
Remember Gaga was only actually top 10 on iTunes for 4 full days out of 7 though, with much lower sales before the X Factor boost, and few streams for the entire week. She could climb this week now she's got a full week post-boost, particularly as she has more promo lined up!
tbh honest laddy gags is much less papular than jams potato this days
Outrageous positions for Robbie and Gaga on singles considering how well they have done on sales all week.
Xmas songs are benefiting far more from streams than they did last year. They all increased sales by >150% this week!

due to an increase of people using streaming services meaning more people listening to Xmas music on Spotify rather than from their own purchases from years ago.

Mariah Carey being Christmas #1 every year is a real possibility if even more people make the switch from downloading to streaming.

It dawn on me earlier in the week, this could really really happen every year :(

That is far preferable to Charity singles every year.

Although I think if that did ever happen it would get to the stage where the OCC would make some rule up to prevent it from happening forever.

On a separate note, I really think the Clean Bandit track is the weakest of the lot, and managing 5 weeks at #1 on lesser sales than Rather Be. Just imagine Rather Be could have been longer at #1, it clearly had more potential to hog the #1 spot for at least 8 to 10 weeks, if streams were added at the beginning of the year, not half way through the year.
Lady Gaga may not be top 40 but the album has had a decent climb.

I think 71-43 in the album chart is misleading considering we see albums fall 9-85 fairly regularly these days. There aren't many sales between 43 and 71, although perhaps at the moment in the Christmas market the gap is a bit higher. The increase considering how many people will have seen the promo performance and how big she has been is poor.

I'm impressed that Mr Brightside has managed to spend over 20 consecutive weeks in the chart - its best ever run. Even if that run has comprised entirely of time spent in the nether regions of the top 100!

Joanne almost doubled its sales week-on-week. That is not bad under any circumstances. Whether it's 3 to 6k or 7 to 14k it's still very good percentage-wise

Joanne is not going to go platinum no matter what so it's all progress is very welcome. It has decent chance to reach 100k which can comfortably be regarded as a success.
