December 13, 20169 yr So excited to see LM surpass Elvis today! :D I really don't understand how people get excited by such a trivial thing.

December 13, 20169 yr Little Mix closing the gap on Rolling Stones! I wonder if they can overtake by Friday? Really hope so!
December 13, 20169 yr I'd say they have a very good chance - I'm surprised the Rolling Stones have held up so well this week - ok for 70k more sales!
December 13, 20169 yr Author I really don't understand how people get excited by such a trivial thing.Neither do I, but everybody's got their own thing I guess. Guys it's a chart thread, people are allowed to be excited by their faves being higher! :P Seems a bit pointless to moan about it really!

It's a chart forum, pretty much the only purpose of this thread is the discuss the movement of the potential chart. We should encourage activity on the forum, as long as it's friendly and not spam. Edit: Oops, Joseph beat me to it.

December 14, 20169 yr Little Mix's Touch is up to #29 and for BigMixer and the other Gaga stans, Million Reasons is up at #35. Great news! Thanks. I don't think last night's iTunes boost is counted in this update, so Gaga might end up being a bit higher. LM coming for that top 20 debut  Edited December 14, 20169 yr by BigMixer

Weeknd Based on those sales (and assuming 5k missing streaming for Clean Bandit yesterday) it looks like both Louis and Matt are going to end up within a couple of thousand sales of #1 on Friday if all continue to sell at the same rate - it's going to be very close!
December 14, 20169 yr I'm so surprised at how quickly the X Factor winner singles fell out of favour. Ben Haenow's track still seemed pretty big with 214,000 copies on its first week and then suddenly we went right down to under 40k for Louisa's opening week and Matt will barely sell 5k more than that, even though it's a decent enough song and he was a relatively popular winner.

December 14, 20169 yr and where is ben haenow now? proof that those sales were inflated, not indicative of his market potential Yeah but my point was that the initial impact of the show's winners singles has suddenly evaporated after being reliably consistently huge for a decade.

I think Matt will need a big boost in streams today/tomorrow to make it this week. If I've worked it out right he's doing about 2-3k more per day than Clean Bandit but there's not enough days to take over now I think. Next week though God knows what's going to happen. Still can't decide whether the Jo Cox one is going to be big or not. Edited December 14, 20169 yr by AcerBen

Firstly, singles sales had shrunk by about 20% in between those two releases. Secondly, Ben's song was uplifting and suited his style and voice. Louisa's failed on all those counts, so people just weren't interested.
