January 12, 20178 yr This will be out 3rd March according to Music Week. The titles of the deluxe tracks are: 13. Barcelona 14. Bibia Be Ye Ye 15. Nancy Mulligan 16. Save Myself I really hope Galway Girl is a cover, a version of it made top 75 here somewhat unexpectedly in 2008 (despite being a huge No.1 in Ireland) but deserves to be much better known in the UK. January 12, 20178 yr We won't need to worry about low sales for the #1 albums this Spring then! :D I feel like Ed could quite easily beat Take That's first week sales with his third week sales - Take That will have strong sales but I imagine lower than they are used to, probably not even over 100k.
January 12, 20178 yr Yeah, Ed could potentially go 500k+, 200k, 100k and Take That will open with about 60-70k max this time I suspect.
January 12, 20178 yr He should release it on his birthday (17th February) to coincide with the BRIT Awards Edited January 12, 20178 yr by Hadji
January 12, 20178 yr so there are sure gonna be more singles before the album, or at least one single, if it's out in March
January 12, 20178 yr Author Updated topic with release date now. I wrote a small piece on my blog in light of his return: http://wp.me/p4UO9N-ib
January 12, 20178 yr Don't think it's been posted yet, but I'll just leave this here: 9FntFh-agWcThat's actually pretty brilliant!
January 12, 20178 yr I take it the Martin Garrix collab won't appear on the album then. :( Can't say I'm surprised though, it's always seemed more likely it'd be on the Garrix album whenever that happens.
January 12, 20178 yr Ed for 2017 best-selling album I'd say and well over a million sales, 1.5m+ in fact.
January 13, 20178 yr Castle On the Hill is #1 on airplay this week. I'm pretty sure this is the first time an on air sale song has debuted at #1 on the airplay chart. Maybe Hello did too, but I think i remember it going 2-1...? Shape of You is also #5. He really is gearing up to Adele heights. Shape of You may debut on less sales than Hello, but I assume if he released just 1 single, the sales would have been a bit higher.
January 15, 20178 yr Multiple plays later and 'Shape Of You' is yet to make any sort of impression on me, and despite the sentimentality throughout 'Castle On The Hill', it's only the chorus that resonates. That chorus is properly gorgeous though <3 and it's exciting to witness the scale of his chart dominance with both tracks regardless. I really hope Galway Girl is a cover, a version of it made top 75 here somewhat unexpectedly in 2008 (despite being a huge No.1 in Ireland) but deserves to be much better known in the UK. Not sure the cover has been confirmed yet but all signs point to that being the case, especially as he's filming a video in Ireland and needs Irish dancers ;o. This song is pretty much a staple closer in any unpretentious Irish club and always gets a massive reception, so I'm intrigued to hear and see what Ed does with it! Or was that not OA/OS?

January 16, 20178 yr I much prefer Shape Of You at the moment, but my issue with both songs is I felt like we have been there before, they are a bit too very generic and cliché, which I guess is good for pop, but I don't know, I was expecting more. They could be Sia and Lukas Graham (Blurgh!!) songs.
January 16, 20178 yr how didn't someone tell ed he's just recorded a shit 'cheap thrills' with 'shape of you'?! she should sue! what gets anyone excited about this man other than his major label, major budget credentials? Edited January 16, 20178 yr by Jake
