Robbie and Olly still leading the Promo stakes this weekend, Olly sneaking in an appearance on "National Lottery Live" but Robbie singing "Love My Life" on "Sports Personality of the Year" again getting the bigger audience. Despite this still looking like Olly's Album will come on top (of the two)
It did sound a bit weak at the start but he is never at his best when relying just on his voice.

Robbie has pushed that song soooo hard. It's been constantly high on iTunes over the past month, but it's just failed to do a thing on streaming.
There's nothing interesting happening on the album chart, but we can expect big sales from Michael Ball and Alfie Boe, Little Mix, Rolling Stones Elvis and Olly Murs, probably in that order, chart-wise.

I know there has only been passing comments on the Album chart so far this week but it may be a bit harsh to say there is "nothing interesting", the real interest will be on the Sales and how it affects the YTD positions (if the Sales YTD Top 3 ends up with 3 Albums released from last year it will reinforce the fact this year has been missing the real classic Albums).

Don't disagree with the Albums mentioned for Top 5 but placings may be different.

Was that the one he performed on SPotY? Sounded pretty bland and dire to me.. I've already forgotten how it goes!

I didn't see it being performed but LML is the current single so I would assume so. Typical Robbie/Chambers stuff but great.

In response to Tinasha streaming has left it way behind but it's gradually risen on the sales chart well enough with the promo!

I'm hoping for more 100k plus sales for some albums as even last year we had that but we've only had it twice this quarter four!

Only once in Q4 I think (ie Rolling Stones), Bowie did it in Q1.

But ironically Chambers is not a co-author of LML.

There are another guys: Gary Go, Johnny McDaid (Snow Patrol member)

Oh, just from memory thought Little Mix did it in their first week!

I thought he did the production of the melody etc!

According to the sun clean bandit are wel ahead, even without Saturdays streams included. They state the top 5 are clean bandit, rag n Bol man, Matt terry, little mix, Louis Tomlinson.

Are any of these charity or choir singles even going to go top 40? Let alone No.1!

London Hospices maybe as they have a physical, but Jo Cox is underperforming wildly against expectations. Not even 2,000 streams on Spotify yet.

Streaming or not, it looks like it's going to be a 'normal' sales #1 and overall #1, albeit with possibly different leaders on these charts. Charity/choir song fatigue has finally set in, they haven't even done well on sales, which I did have an inkling might happen as for every one that has succeeded in the past 100 more have failed.

The silence from the OCC is deafening today (because Clean Bandit comfortable lead for 7th week at number 1 is hardly headline grabbing) but I think interest in the Christmas #1 is finally beginning to die away, just as interest in the actual chart has over the past decade.

I don't think interest in the Xmas no1 has dwindled I just think it's one of those years when nothing has grabbed attention/imagination which happened in the past in 1995, 1986 and other times. This year the industry supported charity records which the public are bored with and XF is still on its way downward in terms of the winners single and as I've said before things will move on and perhaps for the first time since 2003 artists/record companies will realise December can be a time to release a big single again.

But in 1995 there was a challenger from that Oasis cover? Mike Flowers Pops?

And in no year since possibly the 1970s has the #1 sold so few copies in this week.. !!
