I love Dear Santa, it's a nice Christmas song! September Sun as a standalone is good but suffers because it feels a little like the weak relation of Paradise Lost, it wouldn't have been a good single.

Dancing With A Broken Heart was never a Delta fave of mine particularly and Steps' version isn't even as good as that. It's decent enough but a big step down on the perfect singles chosen from the main album.

I didn't care for Beautiful Battlefield or Fool For You much.

I think I'd have maybe given either Happy or No More Tears On The Dancefloor a single mix and video treatment instead.

September Sun was the best thing on the re:issue.

Oh I forgot that September Sun was part of the re-issue that's another one I loved!

With the new greatest hits out it does set up some reflective moments and tears on the dance was really a special as i think the quality of the album was so unexpected. For me with Step one the singles were good and i just had a good feeling i would enjoy the album which i did and still do as sometimes debut albums can fall flat outside the singles. When they reformed i wasnt fully sure what they would release and i was a bit taken back by how good the album was when i first heard it and i was in a way very proud of them for releasing such a good album that still stands up well 5 years later as comebacks they really aced it with the album.

Great to read your thoughts FTF!

I was really looking forward to this after the release of Scared Of The Dark and I must admit I was a touch underwhelmed after I played the album for the first time. (runs and hides)

Though after multiple plays I really began to love it. I think I just expected Steps 2017 to sound like Steps 2001.

I was like that when i first heard scared of the dark I was disappointed with it and it was only when they performed it on strictly that I got hooked and couldn't understand why I was initially disappointed. Neon Blue when I first heard it on the album was a wow moment I just loved it and still do.

Scared Of The Dark & I Will Love Again were the wow moments for me.

Neon Blue clicked with me much later, but I love it now.

Loved SOTD straight away as the rest of the album  Steps really brought their sound into 2017 without sounding the dated. With the original version having a high standard (for me), the new tracks sounded ok. Not bad, but didn’t add something new for me personally.
Scared of the Dark showed they were serious about moving forward and we're aiming for a long term reformation as a band and not a quick flash in the pan reformation.

Scared of the Dark was released 6 years ago on this date!

It really doesn’t feel like it’s that old already imo :drama:

Also thought I’d add my friend who’s not a Steps fan loves this song. He was living in London in 2017 and messaged me to say Steps were at #1 on iTunes. I was like yeah, they have a new song out. He asked if I thought it was good. Well obliviously I said yes. So he listened to it and really enjoyed it!

Time goes by so quickly :o

This single was, and still is, such a moment and I’m happy it got a silver certification!
