Surprised to see Eastenders actually dip from Christmas Day but facing Jurassic World won't have helped and I guess, of all the soaps, Eastenders is going to be most affected by people going out partying. I'm sure the official 7-day figures will tell a different story.

No, wait, wait!!

I reckon with all the recording viewings of the regeneration, even if it just that bit, the ratings will be MASSIVE!! Inclue worldwide ratinga and worldwide and country viewings of the regenrarion clip at least, Doc Who was by FAR the most viewed new episode from Christmas Day!! Wouldn't surpruse me if 30 million had seen the rgenerarion, either as an online clip or on tv!!

Did you read this story about yourself?

Good to see that Dr Who got the biggest share of the audience on Christmas Day at a time when there was any competition. The only higher share was for a programme that was being shown on BBC1 and ITV at the same time.

The first Eastenders did really well for an out of slot episode, just a shame they couldn't have made it an hour-long to save them from the sub-5m rating at 9:30pm, but even that rating was okay considering.

I was referring to the fact that it was beaten by the Queen's Speech whose competition on the other main channel was.... the Queen's Speech.

But you said "Good to see that Dr Who got the biggest share of the audience on Christmas Day at a time when there was any competition".

Making out that Dr Who got the biggest share of the audience when there was competition and there wasn't any.. it was up against the end of 3 movies.

Yes, so people who were watching those movies weren't going to switch over and miss the ending, do Doc Who did have competition and did well regardless. IVY would never risk going head to head with Who with one of their big programmes as they know who would win.

they weren’t movie premieres though.. if that’s the case, every show on Christmas Day had competition.

It did well, but it didn’t have the biggest share when there was any competition.

It had competition in the sense that the other major channel was showing a different programme. It doesn't matter whether the film was being shown for the first time or the 101st, it was still a different programme.

These Christmas ratings are so bad this year, hopefully the channels can be more inspired next year.
It had competition in the sense that the other major channel was showing a different programme. It doesn't matter whether the film was being shown for the first time or the 101st, it was still a different programme.

You’re not making any sense.. Every show on over Christmas had a different programme on another station?

Mrs Browns Boys, Strictly.. had higher shares than Dr Who and they had competition because a different programme was on at the same time. Trying to spin that Dr Who had the biggest share with ‘competition’ is wrong.

Did they make worldwide news or have high yt clip figures like Doc Who though?

Doctor Who was on earlier, too when people were busier. I think it's recorded viewers will be higher than the rest.

Read what I said. I specifically mentioned major channels. Channels that rarely get audiences anywhere near one million do not count as major.
