Adele keeping her record of having every proper single release being certified - Pleased to see WUTB making silver despite being a relative flop!

And :cheer: at Alt-J getting a silver certification for their #85 smash!

I'd class Water Under The Bridge as a hit tbh!

WUTB has done quite well (thanks mostly to streaming) given how much the album had sold by single 4 and without any promo or music video. Single 4 from 21 (Rumour Has It) flopped horribly here, so it's done pretty well.
When you consider it's chart peak, especially in comparison to the other 25 singles, I'd say WUTB is a success of it's own right.

'I'm With You' sold 57k in 2003; 143k sold since.

'Ever Fallen in Love...' was a #12 hit in 1978 and was the 93rd best seller that year. My guess is that it has sold around ~350k in total.

'My Songs Know...' sold 171k in 2013; 229k sold since.

'Antenna' sold 276k in 2013; 124k sold since.

'Wonderful World' sold 59k in 2006 and I suspect another ~30k in 2007, so ~110k sold since.

'Blah Blah Blah' sold 172k in 2010; 28k sold since.

'Fantasy' sold 306k in 1995, meaning 94k sold since. The OCC seemed to have downgraded its sales as it was said to have sold 280k in total in 2010; however I think the BPI have stuck with the original figures, as 94k downloads and streams in total feels more likely than 120k sold since 2010.

'She Will Be Loved' sold 90k in 2004, meaning 510k sold since! It had sold 222k in September 2011 (90k sold 2005-Sep 2011 / 378k sold Sep 2011-Feb 2017) and passed 400k in January 2015 (178k sold Sep 2011-Jan 2015 / 200k sold Jan 2015-Feb 2017).

'Steady As She Goes' sold 89k in 2006; 111k sold since.

'Seven Nation Army' failed to reach the 2003 best sellers list, meaning sales of less than 37k that year and a over 563k sold since! The song had sold 246k by March 2012 (over 209k sold 2004-Mar 2012 / 354k sold Mar 2012-Feb 2017) and passed 400k in May 2015 (154k sold Mar 2012-May 2015 / 200k sold May 2015-Feb 2017).

'Rap God' sold 80k in 2013 (excluding sales from the one week it was chart ineligible), so has sold ~320k since (I believe this Gold certification includes the ineligible sales, as they were included in the certifications for 'Do What U Want' and 'Break Free', for instance).

'Stereo Hearts' sold 246k in 2011; 154k sold since.

'Turn Me On' sold 271k in 2003, approaching 300k by the end of 2004, so ~300k+ since 2004. It passed 400k in Summer 2013 and 500k in Summer 2015.

'Last Request' sold 135k in 2006; 465k sold since. It was certified Gold in September 2014.

'Mucho Mambo Sway' sold 351k in 1999; 49k sold since.

'Drop It Like It's Hot' sold 41k in 2004 and 27k in 2005 (68k in total); 332k sold since. It passed 200k in 2013 and 300k in 2015.

From what I can find, '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction' sold over 600k in the 60s, so has sold 800k+ in total.

'Waterfall' might have managed ~20k in 1992, so its total to date is ~220k.

'Dry Your Eyes' sold 188k in 2004; 212k sold since.

Impressive for 'Rap God'. Seemed to have a very short chart run for a #5 hit but it's been well remembered.

'Everybody (Backstreet's Back)' sold 430k in 1997; 170k sold since.

'Till the World Ends' sold 146k in 2011; 54k sold since.

'19/2000' sold 112k in 2001; 88k sold since.

'Superstylin'' sold less than the required 57k to make the 2001 End of Year Chart, meaning sales of over 143k sold since.

'Rich Girl' sold 96k in 2005; 104k sold since. I always thought it was odd this hadn't been certified given its classic 00s pop, but those low 2005 sales explain why.

'Let It Go' sold 862k by the end of 2014, a further 221k in 2015 and 117k in 2016/17.

'All the Lovers' sold 316k in 2010; 84k sold since. Believe it or not, it's only Kylie's sixth song to pass 400k.

'Beat It' was certified Silver in the 80s for shipments of 250k so, based on certifications, its sales are about 650k.

'Good Times' sold 326k in 2010; 74k sold since.

'Murder on the Dancefloor' sold 297k by the end of 2002 (182k in 2001; 115k in 2002); 103k sold since.

Hey Liam,

I'm very curious about the details for 'The Only Exception' and 'Islands'! Genuinely surprised to see them both cross 200k.

Great work as usual!

Thanks anyway :) I'm very shocked that Kylie has only had 6 songs pass 400k - can you tell us which songs the other 5 are? I can only think of CGYOOMH and maybe The Loco-Motion and I Should Be So Lucky?

Her Top 5 sellers:

01. Can't Get You Out of My Head

02. Especially for You

03. I Should Be So Lucky

04. Hand On Your Heart

05. The Loco-motion

Do the certifications for songs such as "Turn Me On" include streams?
They do indeed!

Thanks for the fast reply!

Bit of a long shot but "Stay" by Shakespears Sister is celebrating it 25th anniversary this month. Do you reckon it may of passed at least 700k by now? It had sold over 600k by Feb 2012 but because it was released pre-1994 it will only get a higher cerfitication once it passes 600k digital sales is that correct? as it was originally certified Gold.

I think so. It sold 490k in 1992 and has achieved at least 200k since, which would put it at 690k as a minimum. I would have thought it would have received another Silver certification in regards to its downloads and streams but it hasn't; I'm unsure whether it would receive a Platinum certification if it went on to sell 600k downloads and streams.
