Yeah, it's gonna be very interesting to see where this Max/revenge storyline goes and how quickly it now kicks into gear.

EDIT: I'm already thinking about characters being brought back. OBVIOUSLY Pam and Les ASAP.

Oh and can you imagine if it's Stuart Blackburn they hire as producer?

Janine plz.

And omg don't joke Craig/RosaParksMyCar said that to me earlier

LMAOOOO FFS

He axed two of the biggest characters of this decade, and has had barely any storylines since to the point that people like a lot of us who have been fans for as long as we can remember are turning off or on the brink of doing so, of course it's his fault

Let's forget the rat ever existed. Can we play the "best possible decision John Yorke can make" game?

BRINGING BACK JANINE/AXING JACK. I highly doubt anybody can beat that. :kink:

God yes, can we inject some drama now please? I don't mean DTC 'Gavin' drama tho.

I don't think John Yorke will be allowed to make returns or axe people, I think it will just be over-seeing the plans that SOC had already laid out. Obviously, he'll be able to make changes to scripts and whatnot so hopefully we'll see some actual drama.

I have no idea who to expect for the next producer. The last three have all been producers who had previously worked on the show and had a so-called passion for the show, yet they all had problems, so I kinda feel hesitant to get excited if the next name is a familiar one who has previous with the show (back-tracking slightly on my delight at John Yorke returning, but he was at least previously an exc. producer so we know just how capable he is in that exact role).

I know you guys are joking, but there's no way Stuart Blackburn or anyone else who has had a bad press will be coming into the top job. The BBC will be very careful on who they bring in as they know Eastenders' reputation is currently in tatters and there's been a string of producers who have ended up destroying chunks of the show.

I'm glad SOC has quit, EE has never be the same since Roxy and Ronnie left the show.

I think Lucy Benjamin could come back full time when Phil returns, and please let the pass 12 months be a dream, Dallas style  and bring back Roxy and Ronnie. :o

If John Yorke does have the power to bring characters back, lots of EE fans seem to think Lucy Benjamin will be brought back. Surely he'd be allowed to bring her back for a guest appearance just to explain Lisa hasn't been present - a bit like how Denise was brought back to Corrie (even if it seems she'll be back on a permanent basis).

If this is true... :manson: :manson: :manson: :manson:

Ugh who knows if there's truth in that but it seems SOC has ruffled so many feathers and he's set up some truly awful storylines of late so it's a damn good thing he's gone.
That sounds so SOC so I wouldn't be hugely shocked

Who do we think/want to be axed?

I think Whitney has run her course despite being a decent actress. Don't think she'll go though.

Johnny is someone else I'd get rid of.

Also Jack but Amy and Ricky have potential.

I don't think anyone will be axed but they'd be my pick.

I can see Donna being the random axe which the fans will miss.

BUT YES AT THAT RAT LEAVING!!! Also, so glad Scott and Emma didn't go ahead with that predictable plot

I think Johnny should at least be given a storyline, Ted Reilly's certainly no BAFTA award winning actor but I'd like them to at least give him something to do before considering the chop.

I wouldn't actually axe anyone just yet, I'd like to see how a new producer could utilise what is a very strong cast really, because every single one of them has been wasted for the past ~year or so :drama:

From a Digital Spy article about John Yorke's supposed plans:

"Although it's early days at the moment, The Sun is claiming that Yorke has plans to ensure Danny Dyer is given a new deal to keep him on at The Vic as Mick Carter.

The reports also suggest that the temporary boss is planning to put Steve McFadden's character Phil Mitchell back at the forefront of the show, as well as bringing back Kat and Alfie Moon now their spin-off series Redwater has come to an end (on a dramatic cliffhanger, no less)."

Mick's not exactly been the most likeable character recently but I hope John Yorke and the eventual permanent producer will have a clearer vision for him, plus Linda's return which can't be a bad thing. Phil at the centre of the show would be fantastic, and I'm not surprised that he's wanting Kat and Alfie back!

Yeah, rumours are rife that he wants

Kat and Alfie

back in the show, despite

Jessie Wallace saying she doesn't actually miss being in the show or something to that effect

.

Lucy Benjamin / Lisa

is also a name being thrown about a lot, although maybe that is more down to hopeful fans.

I'm hoping the Taylor family will get ditched ASAP.
