I'm quite pleased for Stormzy personally, it represents a break from the norm and embraces diversity.

Everybody's allowed to like what they want, but I just don't understand enjoying Stormzy... That style of music is totally monotonous and unlistenable for me. Wasn't expecting this huge popularity for it.

 

I don't understand how people like Ed Sheeran ballads but hey everyone has different tastes ;)

It struck me listening to Capital and Kiss in the gym recently how the songs all sounded so similar to each other... the Spotify Top 50 being similar too. Even if I wasn't a big Stormzy fan, I'd be applauding something different and diverse being popular. Makes things a bit more refreshing.

So basically the official charts are just going to be Ed Sheeran and Stormzy with the Chainsmokers joint in when they release their album.

Perhaps even younger as, if I were a parent, I'd happily pay for a Spotify subscription for my kid as it would be so much cheaper and easier than buying them music.

Really hope Lana makes it tomorrow. If she makes it Wednesday instead and has that usual jump on Thursday, it won't be included in her chart position for Friday

but most importantly, even if not top 50, Lana is doing big numbers, always >100k, last 3 days she's done 135k, 120K and 100K, the latter being Sunday aka the quietest day of the week
