'Rise' did manage #1 on iTunes and this is her proper comeback.

 

I think it could manage #1 on iTunes at some point tomorrow with the initial hype. If it does I can only see it hitting #1 for less than a day though and ending up somewhere in the top 5 officially (most likely #3 but we have no idea how big her streams will be).

Katy will definitely be #1 on iTunes, can't see her sustaining that for the whole week though seeing as Ed's still selling lots.

Didn't realise Elbow and Izzy Bizu were low top 40 on iTunes!!

It did get to #1 on iTunes when it was released and then gradually fell down.

Pushed Perfect Strangers down to 0.9232, lasted about 8 hours at the top of the charts on its release day.

It helped that it was an Apple exclusive

It's hard to compare to Rise really, so many factors are different - this one looks like it has a music video premiering alongside it, is likely to get more instant airplay than Rise, and I have faith that it's a better song, so I think it can make #1 on iTunes! I don't think it will fall particularly quickly either, Katy's not a fanbase artist as such, she has more casual fans I think.

Yeah, this will easily out-do Rise. It alreay has more hype than Rise did after it had been out to buy.

How convenient the Galantis remix of Shape Of You is out when there's a #1 contender also out, I hope it flops on iTunes for Katy's sake.

Tom Zanetti and offaiah managed to do so, they were similar releases with similar hype amounts so I expect Just Us will go top 100 on iTunes at least.

 

Is this hype for Cloudbusting just from the few Radio 1 play when it was called Everytime It Rains or from getting played in clubs/by various famous producers live?

 

I know Zanetti had a big soundcloud following prior to You Want Me so I can see where the hype came from for that.
