here's my suggestion:

 

I think a better way of running the Re:Loadeds to get more people on board is to re-run TBO, that way we don't have to wade through the filler (and there really is a lot of filler in these early contests).

 

Basically what I mean is have a nominations round, the top 5 from each contest go into semi-finals (alongside the 10 winners) and the top 15 from each qualify to the final. Including DNQs in the TBO rather than running a separate Rejects contest.

 

I think people still want a reloaded of BJSC X but not sure how much interest there is for individual contest re-runs after that, but it'd be a shame to just scrap the Re:Loaded project entirely. I'm sure there are some great songs from 11-20 (and going forward) that are worth rediscovering.

I like the way you're thinking Dan but if we go with that I think we need a system that excludes tracks no one needs to discover because we've all heard them already and doesn't leave behind any track that may be a worthwhile discovery.

 

I'm thinking instead of a ranking system to whittle it down, people who are interested enough, prior to the Reloaded, pick out songs from the contest they think are worth putting forward, like curated recommendations - as well as a discussion about which tracks to knock back because of being too well known, and that smaller, select number of tracks that are mentioned makes up the final for the contest while the songs no one cares to speak up for are left behind, and with a smaller number of songs, more people hopefully vote. Basically openly discuss what's worth putting up for a vote rather than adding another round of voting to the process.

 

Possibly group contests together TBO style but maybe just 2 or 3 at a time at the most rather than a whole ten, I know only a few of these are done a year but that would really feel like rushing it.

That may work better, do you mean like we all basically 'confirm' a song from the contest but more openly?

Something like that - in fact that may be the thing needed to get people invested in rerunning these - have an entry attached to them.

There just isn't the demand for this as it is :lol: I think perhaps do a poll of which ones to re-run?

The next Re:LOADED isn't due for a good 8 months. Sure we bookended them this year. X will be run in the run up to the contest turning X so I'm probably going to leave it in the same format it's in now and then look at at 2018 revamp.

 

If we had more contests this year then I'd be inclined to pay it more attention now but honestly I'd rather focus our attentions elsewhere at the moment

We will gather feedback and opinions and shit when we do start to think about it. I'd rather be realistic with the time frame for changes and you guys

I hadn't actually appreciated we'd have X scheduled for when this contest turns 100, that's actually rather cool.
