Is anyone else wondering if the owner of the country they were allocated will approve of their choice?

Of all the artists on the list for me they've entered one of the cheapest who isn't even that Ashtonise given their best result came for another nation and they've been entered by like 4 countries. I absolutely adore the song but it smacks of zero effort being put in to explore the back catelogue beyond something they already knew and liked and I didn't think that was the point of this at all.

Eek- hopefully whoever has me is slightly more inspired, but considering I've literally sent Steve Aoki, Flume and Oliver Heldens in the past to name a few there's definitely the possibility for a generic cheap song to be entered. (Well even those artists have relatively unknown songs so I won't complain if those get sent)

I'm mixed on the choice that the person who got me has chosen - they have quite a different taste to me so I guess this is all fair enough and it's a fairly inspired choice, that's all good, but they've gone for one of my artists who isn't that me and I never really felt enthused to explore more from besides their one amazing song that I entered and at the moment, it may grow, I don't think the song they've chosen is anywhere near as good. Basically I wouldn't enter it myself.

Tbh I think I'd only be disappointed if someone went for KYKO or Big Data as they're like the least Taahino I've gone bar this month and I don't think they had much else that was any good bar what I sent, in saying that though maybe I'll be surprised as they're not artist I've explored in much depth, unlike most of my other entries where I could list most of their discography :kink:

My song admittedly sounds pretty distinctively like something I'd send, BUT I know that my country likes this style too judging on their past entries and they definitely like the TV show it stems from ;o

If anyone has FLJ then I'm hoping they don't go down the Zedd & Foxes collab route as that is so not me, even if it would tick two entry boxes.

I'm not bothered as to what whoever has my country enters, all of my entries are 'me' in a sense - there's nothing I would say is totally out of my taste zone.

I definitely sent something non-cheap!

I've had a great time selecting my song. I started with my favourite entry by [REDACTED] which was a very typically [REDACTED] kind of song and I've found something that's very Ashton (vocally) meets [Redacted] (instrumentally) and is really rather good.

 

It's spurred me to download the artists back catalogue, which to me anyway is the whole joy and point of this spin off.

Kinda does not work if you find only three artists you enjoy and they all have 5 singles out in total between them~

 

But I found a loophole so there might be a way out!!

I found something that I love quite a lot. I liked the original entry by this artist, and think I pointed it, but I prefer the song I've found by miles <3

 

I was pretty spoilt for choice and discoveries though, the country I had really doesn't do cheap.

I'll be a lil bit disappointed if someone has sent someone like Robyn or Estelle for me like I said in the other thread (and I am really hoping we haven't had TOO many people just going for one of the most well-known artists possible) but beyond that I'm not bothered if it turns out to be someone who doesn't share my taste sending a song that I don't like tbh. There wasn't anything in the rules saying you had to send a song that actually sounded like something your assigned country would send, just that it had to be a past artist they sent. x

 

(that said if whoever got me can deliver a song that is both inspired and actually good that would be ideal x)

Yeah, if someone who got me (one lucky bitch!) it would be very frowned upon to enter Adele, Serebro, NatBed, The Weeknd, Crystal Castles, etc. There are plenty of more inspiring stuff. And YES i did send FOUR Russian Eurovision entrants, Polina and Sergey way before 2015 so that octopus that predicts stuff can move because Conderella the Octopussy is here.

My country has previously entered a song that I considered myself so I've gone for a fairly new song from that artist. Don't expect them to be much of a fan but I could've easily gone quite cheap so I hope they approve of a more obscure choice

I've not listened to the song that Mr Bignia has sent, but the artist choice looks pretty random :lol: Gives me a slight feeling that this person isn't normally a fan of my entries :kink:

Seeing this at the top of the 'possible entries' thread reminded me how amazing it is, one of my favourite BJSC discoveries <3

I'm going full dancebloc with this, a lovely bit of house that Dan probably charted I've been loving for a good few months.

 

I'll probably get loads of 'there were so many better options by so many better artists!!1' comments but I feel like going properly dance for this one, so why not enter this one :wub:
