and figures are not striking (just above 500K) cos it was Sunday, which is the slowest day of the week for streams

should increase today :D

I even got an email just now from Spotify telling me that Drake's playlist is on there ;) thanks a lot :D :D :D

but yeps, it's beyond ridiculous, imagine if the top 40 come Friday has 22 Drake songs + 16 from Ed :D

It was released on Saturday?

sure Saturday at like 23:30

that's why it hasn't charted til today's update

guess we should be thankful his album in the end only had 22 tracks and not the rumoured 30 :)

This is actually worse than I thought for Drake, only one song over 500k

He's not as big as ED in the UK we can't expect that of course and above 500K 3 weeks ago was HUGE, but WW he's bigger at least on Spotify. (and Fore sure Apple Music)

Omg, a Drake and Ed Sheeran chart on Friday :drama: OCC has to do something about it or else music labels are going to have a problem with it.

Other brand new music releases are going to suffer badly.

I'm now beginning to lose interest in the charts, with all these album tracks filtering the singles chart by Ed Sheeran and now Drake, the music labels need to get on the act.
Oh m'lawwd :drama:

Spotify / The OCC really need to do something about albums in the singles chart, otherwise this week's top 40 will have barely anyone other than Drake and Ed.

I hope it happens tbh, coz if it does, then the OCC will be forced into making immediate changes as opposed to when they see fit.

I don't even follow the charts too much anymore, well aside from my faves, but even I'm getting pissed off

But it's not a hot hit

:P

In what way is it not a hot hit, they are a popular band and their comeback was hotly anticipated!

How hard is it for the OCC to just exclude streams from those who are obviously listening to the album as a whole (or most of it) rather than picking those tracks to individually listen to? Of all the ways the chart could be 'fixed', this seems like the most logical one to me, it's not excluding album tracks...if people are genuinely accessing them actively to listen to as a standalone song then great, they should be counted, if not then their impact belongs in the album chart.

This would do away with the majority of album tracks charting...certainly for weeks on end anyway.

Drake's lost almost two full days of sales and streams so that will knock these down a bit in Friday's chart but nevertheless, this is depressing lmao.
I wouldn't have a problem with someone dominating the chart's if it was someone I actually liked, Drake's not my cup of tea, and Ed Sheeran is just dull. I'd be quite happy if the 17 tracks on the new Conor Oberst album were all in the spotify top 50

I actually hope Drake does get most of these shitty songs in the top 40, if it forces OCC to change the rules, which they seem reluctant to do.
