do we know if there's gonna be a proper single off this so-called playlist?

or maybe playlists don't have singles? :D

apparently 'Passionfruit' has been sent to Capital so that will be the lead single. hope it's massive.

I can't wait to check it out, I enjoy the takeover!!!

Maybe they could bring out a 'pure singles' chart but they should definitely keep the all tracks chart going

It will, easily. It's huge and deserved to be so!

Zaylor and one of Ed's album tracks leave the top 50 in exchange for Clean Bandit and "Fake Love"

It's incredible that Drake is managing this with a 'playlist', not even a mixtape, let alone an album!

They wouldn't end up as high as Ed officially, even if they'd had a full week on release, because they are doing so much worse on iTunes compared to Divide's tracks. Still, there's going to be a pretty huge chunk of the top 40 taken up by these tracks on Friday.

I would not be at all surprised if Passionfruit is #1 in a couple of weeks, a great song! I'm really not here for it being #1 for 5 weeks + though.
Apple Music is bigger than Spotify.

Drake beat Ed's record for most streamed album in 24 hours, with 89.9million streams!

Isn't that down to the Drake record having more tracks though? It's still impressive but would he had real the record if it was sixteen tracks long?

I though Spotify was the biggest streaming service in the UK.

Anyway, why don't we have an Apple Music chart thread on here then (or is it generally too similar to Spotify in its top 50)

We do, Ben updates it for us!

For all the negative comments about the Drake takeover what is undeniable is he is an incredibly prolific Artist (more than Prince in his heyday). I would agree there may be a case for a bit more quality control but the amount of songs he releases is impressive. If he keeps releasing at same rate I can see Drake breaking records for number of songs to chart (overall).

It's getting interesting on the Billboard Hot 100 in that regard. The cast of Glee has the record which seemed unassailable a few years ago, but with how prolific Drake's been in the last 2 years especially, it's really starting to get in reach. If every track on More Life charts, he'll cut the gap between them from 75 to 54. Before What A Time To Be Alive was released, that gap was 133.

I'd even have a problem with this if it was one of my favourite artists having this kind of takeover. There's practically no point in observing the chart, anything else is not gonna get any sort of look in and is gonna be shoved down due to this monopolisation by one or two artists. It's awful. :(
I still think we're making a fuss over nothing, I bet in two weeks a large majority of the Ed and Drake tracks will be out of the top 50. Anyway, I think that Drake will start to decrease starting from tomorrow, at least I hope so.

i think people's votes for songs shoul be included in the charts exactly as sales and streams

And I mean positive and negative vote

Negative vote should eradicate one sale or/and 150 streams and this way we can come back to balance.

If you don't like Ed/Drake give him a 'minus' vote and this way we can reach normality very soon again

That's not how the charts work though.

Songs and artists that people hate have reached #1 all the time, and putting a 'negative vote' option would only work in Ed's favour, because his music is so inoffensive and caters to pretty much everyone. He wouldn't receive many negative votes in relativity. Proof of this is his 'Shape of You' music video on YouTube, less than 3% who clicked like or dislike clicked the dislike button - and most people who watched the video didn't click either like nor dislike.
