As I said in the OP I will be accepting late votes up until 16:00 tomorrow, however as per the rules you will still be deducted (though only at 15%) and face a one-month contest ban.

You sure about that hun?

The Rules of the Buzzjack Song Contest

Voting:

Please Note

  • If the deadline is extended before it has passed and a country fails to vote in accordance with the ORIGINAL deadline then a reduced penalty of 15% will be applied to any votes accepted during this time by the host. Votes accepted after this time will be viewed as late votes and will receive the same penalty as a non-voter.

Votes accepted between 23:59 & 16:00 are subject to 15% deduction and no ban. Anything after 16:00 is treated as a non-voter for penalty purposes regardless of whether or not the votes are accepted.

That is exactly what he said?

edit: wait maybe not ~ did that rule get changed again recently?? I swear it's different every time it gets posted lmao

No. There's no ban if the deadline is extended before the original deadline passes.

That rule always confuses me, but yeah, still try to vote before midnight because having a 15% deduction is no fun.~

Didn't someone get banned even though they did vote before the extended deadline or something?

The wording was altered in 2016, but the actual rule has been consistent since 2013.

If I'm reading into it right, I think whether you get banned depends on when the host announces the extended deadline.

Coz the deadline was extended after the original deadline had passed.

This pair of rules have been firmly in place and enforced for 3.5 years.

Correct.

If the deadline is extended after the original one passes, then you're a non-voter to begin with and never had any intention of sticking to the proper deadline.

If it's extended before it passes, then it would be reasonable to assume you were an on time voter that is making use of the extra time to craft your votes.

I hope Skall aren't gonna be no-shows, 94 would be an awkward contest to lose a Nordic rap fan.
