Hi everyone and welcome back to Windevale, capital city of Cadelicia for another edition of the BJSC spin-offs. We've been drafted in at short notice* to bring you a deeply anticipated theme, Japan vs. South Korea!!

This will be a very short lived Green Room, as confirmations should be opening tomorrow dinner time. Please see the timescale below for more information:

Confirmations - 8th to 14th April
Final Voting - 15th to 28th April
Results - 29th April

Please use this thread to discuss the J-pop and K-pop phenomenon and hype the place up!! :cheer:

For those debating whether this is their thing, remember that it isn't restricted to just K-pop and J-pop. You can go full on rock if you want, or Anime. Dance or even trap and D&B. Just as long as the singer/group/composer is from either Japan or South Korea and it's not cheap as hell then it should be good. It'll actually be better to have a wide variety of music from these two countries! ^_^

*so the host may change during the confirmation period if indeed someone who hasn't hosted before wants to do this.

Woo! Hyped to unleash my entry~

I am going to be so gunning for the win this time.

 

Now I'm not being stereotypical but I'm kind of hoping to see a couple of anime songs in here, placing me firmly on Team Japan (but you knew that anyway). It's really incredible how many songs there are for that, it'd be like if every TV show here made two new pop songs every half-season to play for their shows. Obviously some are less good than others for BJSC purposes but I have quite a few in mind that I think would slay this sort of thing.

 

And even beyond that, both these countries have incredible music scenes. I'll be definitely interested in any of the weird and wonderful you guys manage to pick up.

The temptation to self-recycle WEDNESDAY CAMPANELLA is real. Not doing it tho. (someone else send one of their other songs pls tbh xx)

 

I'm still gonna try and search for a new song before the confirmations deadline but atm probably going for some Korean synthpop x (I hesitate to call it K-Pop because it sounds more like a Western song that just happens to be sung in Korean).

is this going to be an even number for Korean vs Japanese entries?

I KNOW there's more to Japan and Korea's music than various faceless girl troupes that are always entered to BJSC so I hope we don't all go down that route ;)

 

I've recently found out that one of my former UP artists are Japanese so this was conveniently timed! :D It is quite the stunner so I hope ppl like.

Ooh, exciting I have a few Chinese artists in my potentials, but none of Japanese or South Korean descent, will do some digging.

Actually just remembered another former potential of mine that technically qualifies for this. So... sending yet another instrumental :D but one of the most beautiful bits of video game soundtrack of all time ~

if that k-pop bop gets taken I think I may be going for a happy hardcore route

I'm going for one of the big J-Pop girls probably but not one of he BJSC fodder ones, but I'll see as this is one of those where I have LOADS of potentials.

The idol scene, Japan's version of faceless girl troupes that are far less popular abroad, is actually really interesting in Japan from a non-musical perspective, I can only recall a few actual idol entries in the past so that might be interesting although a lot of it isn't that good. Some of it is quite crazy though.

 

But yes, just like anywhere else, there's non-pop artists so no need to be put off if you haven't liked K-Pop or J-Pop before.

As long as the singer/composer is Japanese (or Korean) (and I can't think of any who aren't off the top of my head but there's probably an exception out there somewhere) of course!

Firstly, why was I not directly informed about this?

 

Secondly, of course I'm going to enter this. I've got a great entry that I think will go down well (as long as I can get my laptop that contains said song back up and running by next week).

ALSO, you're all in luck if you don't submit an mp3. I'm a member of an Asian music tracker, so I'll most likely be able to get HQ mp3s for anyone who doesn't submit their own instead of just doing YT rips.
