Not with that attitude it won't!

Libdems got massacred last time they were in coalition, and blamed for policies that weren't theirs, while the real culprits got away with it.

Assuming a miracle happens, and both Labour and Libdems and SNP collectively have enough to remove the Tory majority none of them would be willing to work together in a coalition, best that could be hoped for would be to destroy Tory policies in a Tory minority government as they try to get them through Parliament.

given Labour's recent voting record I wouldn't bet on them turning away many Tory policies related to Brexit (which most things will be for the next 5 years), just helping to create chaos here and there. Essentially Corbyn is trying to catch the working class UKIP/Tory voters who have walked away from them and is frightened to say boo to a goose. Witness his golden opportunity to slag Cowardy May off in a TV debate where she refuses to appear.

Both of them know they are going to come out of it very badly, so they childishly say "well if x isn't neither am I..!" trying to minimise awkward questions by the media (and both of whom have very many potentially very awkward questions to answer).

More EU thread than Gen Election, but it may impact on views if it becomes more widely distributed,

this summary of talks with Juncker is very illuminating on how deluded May is. Obviously it's been leaked to stop her hiding behind "confidentiality" insistances ahead of the election.

It makes it sound like we will leave the EU without a deal, and without paying anything to the EU, and losing our entire market with ill-will. Worst-case scenario for the future of the UK. Young people time to mobilise or be very very bitter and angry about your future well-being....

Just been reading that on twitter. It doesn't reveal anything new to be honest. We all know that May's approach to the EU is basically the same as Trump's to the world, utterly clueless.

Well I for one and no doubt many others will be very happy if we don't have to pay any more to the EU. Sod them. We can build our own markets with the US, Australia, China, Japan, rest of the Commonwealth etc. We don't need the EU. See how they manage without our contributions. :)

You're a complete f***ing moron

We'll survive whatever happens. We're not called GREAT Britain for nothing. :cheer:

we need to live in a more global society not keep this selfish british ego inflated, like britain could ever be an autarky (altho i bet you'd love that)

We do live in a global society. The EU is toxic and we're better off out of it. Anyway it's disintegrating as we speak. Watch France leave next.

Strike 1, please leave the debating club.

Not that you should count on us still being a united Great Britain or indeed a United Kingdom (our actual name, apologise to Northern Ireland, even though they're probably 'traitors' in your mind) forever the way this thing is going.

The best thing about brexiteers using that phrase, is that it intrinsically links us to France and thus the EU seeing as the name Great Britain refers to Brittany, France.
You're a complete f***ing moron

For a moderator, you're quite disrespectful. You should know better than to talk to people like that.

The EU only care about the money, they know roughly £10 BIILION a year from the UK to the EU will be gone when we officially leave the EU in 2019, those days of the EU bureaucrats and most Eastern European countries sponging off from the UK are OVER. Thankfully Theresa May is not prepared to get down on her knees to President Juncker and do whatever he wants, if the EU don't want trade with the UK, that's fine by us we'll look elsewhere to a market of over 7 billion people outside of the EU. The EU has behaved extremely disrespectful to the UK after everything we have done for Europe, we're one of the few nations that have helped rebuild and bring most of Europe back on its feet again after the two world wars and the Cold war.

Only quite? I knew I should have used c**t instead.

It figures that you would be a nationalist when you talk to people like that.

It figures that you would be a nationalist when you talk to people like that.

Assuming you mean Scottish Independence supporters, we're not the nationalists who have caused a triple digit spike in hate crimes and blame immigrants for everything. (Obviously 99% of British Nationalists don't do those hate crimes but all of them come from that side)

It's looking likely that 60%+ of France are voting for a candidate passionate for the EU and not Le Pen so NO

you can f*** right off with most of this. Yes, our contribution will be gone but you can't just take that as one fact alone in order to prove your point when the bigger picture is a BALANCE. We contribute to the EU and in return we get subsidies, we get travel, trade, healthcare, OPPORTUNITY and most importantly of all peace. There's a reason there hasn't been any major European conflict since the creation of the EU. We're safer, and stronger together the only reason why this is getting so f***ed up is the rise of right wing patriotism happening domestically which is shit stirring EU backlash. Where has the EU acted so disrespectfully to us? They didn't want us to leave? There is even discussion of offering our citizens EU citizenship....

It wasn't Britain who rebuilt Europe post war, it was the collective nations which eventually formed the EU.

The BNP are not mainstream and they will NEVER get into power, the SNP on the other hand.....
