Posted April 19, 20178 yr Christina Aguilera's Official Top 20 biggest songs By Justin Myers She's the fighter who loved to get dirrty and owed her early success to a magical genie – kind of. She's been away a while, but the signs are good for a Christina Aguilera comeback in 2017. She's confirmed a new album is coming. While we wait, we look at the songs that got her here – an impressive lineup of 23 Top 40 hits, of which 17 went Top 10 and four made it all the way to Number 1. Before we reveal the full Top 20, some highlights: Genie in a Bottle Every pop superstar's career has to start somewhere and Christina's kickoff was better than most. A genuine phenomenon when released in 1999, demand was so high that the US import charted the week before its official UK release. Shifting 172,000 copies in that first seven days on sale, Genie in a Bottle spent two weeks at Number 1. It lands as her second biggest song with 712,300 copies sold, and 5.9 million streams. Lady Marmalade Some of Christina's most enduring hits have been her team-ups with other huge artists – she is not afraid of a collaboration! 2001's Lady Marmalade was a real turning point for Christina – while she'd been spotted out and about sporting a more outré look, this was the first time we'd seen Christina fully expressing herself and letting out her wild side. With Lil Kim, Pink and Mya on board, this was a guaranteed hit – another Number 1. On her rundown, it clocks in as her fourth biggest song overall, combining sales of 676,000 and 9.3 million. Dirrty So if Lady Marmalade was the starter, here was the main. Christina was pulling no punches – indeed, the video was set at a very rough boxing match – on this fantastically gritty Number 1 from 2002. The lead from her huge-selling sophomore album Stripped, Dirrty spent two weeks rubbing itself up against the Number 1 spot, and has scored 393,000 sales and 6.7 million streams to land in Christina's all-time Top 5. Beautiful Christina's last Number 1 (so far), this classic "look hun, you're actually a really great person so who cares what people think" ballad knocked Tatu's All The Things She Said off the top in 2003. It's sold 377,400 copies and racked up 6.6 million plays since we started counting in 2014. Moves Like Jagger Now, a big one. Christina hadn't been in the Top 10 for a while when this insanely catchy track from a revitalised Maroon 5 came along in 2011. Christina's scene-stealing cameo helped Moves Like Jagger to million-selling status – but it couldn't lift it to Number 1. Yep, Moves Like Jagger spent an agonising SEVEN weeks at 2, beaten to the top by six different songs, including Example, Rihanna FT Calvin Harris, Pixie Lott and One Direction. In fact, Moves Like Jagger is the second bestselling single in the history of the Official Singles Chart not to get to Number 1, beaten (again) by Wham’s Last Christmas. It was the second biggest selling single of 2011, behind Adele's Someone Like You, and is Christina's biggest song in the UK – 1.53 million sales and 16.8 million streams. However… while it is her top seller, it isn't her most streamed track. Say Something Another memorable feature from Christina, this song became a hit after our leading lady spotted it on So You Think You Can Dance – we can just imagine Christina settling down to watch this at home, shouting out NO whenever someone attempted the moves from Dirrty – and was anxious to collaborate with A Great Big World on a new version. The Christina-enhanced song reached Number 4 in 2014 and sold 432,000 copies. It's Christina's most streamed track in the UK, notching up 31 million plays, helping it to finish third in her all-time Top 20. It's also her most recent Top 40 hit – but we reckon that will change pretty soon… The Official Top 20 biggest Christina Aguilera songs: SONG BY PEAK YEAR 1 MOVES LIKE JAGGER MAROON 5 FEAT CHRISTINA AGUILERA 2 2011 2 GENIE IN A BOTTLE CHRISTINA AGUILERA 1 1999 3 LADY MARMALADE CHRISTINA AGUILERA/LIL' KIM/MYA/PINK 1 2001 4 SAY SOMETHING A GREAT BIG WORLD/CHRISTINA AGUILERA 4 2014 5 DIRRTY CHRISTINA AGUILERA FEAT REDMAN 1 2002 6 BEAUTIFUL CHRISTINA AGUILERA 1 2003 7 FEEL THIS MOMENT PITBULL FEAT CHRISTINA AGUILERA 5 2013 8 CANDYMAN CHRISTINA AGUILERA 17 2007 9 AIN'T NO OTHER MAN CHRISTINA AGUILERA 2 2006 10 HURT CHRISTINA AGUILERA 11 2006 11 FIGHTER CHRISTINA AGUILERA 3 2003 12 WHAT A GIRL WANTS CHRISTINA AGUILERA 3 2000 13 TELL ME P DIDDY FEAT CHRISTINA AGUILERA 8 2006 14 NOBODY WANTS TO BE LONELY RICKY MARTIN WITH C AGUILERA 4 2001 15 CAR WASH CHRISTINA AGUILERA FEAT MISSY ELLIOTT 4 2004 16 TILT YA HEAD BACK NELLY & CHRISTINA AGUILERA 5 2004 17 COME ON OVER BABY (ALL I WANT IS YOU) CHRISTINA AGUILERA 8 2000 18 CAN'T HOLD US DOWN CHRISTINA AGUILERA FEAT LIL' KIM 6 2003 19 THE VOICE WITHIN CHRISTINA AGUILERA 9 2003 20 KEEPS GETTIN' BETTER CHRISTINA AGUILERA 14 2008 ©2017 Official Charts Company. April 19, 20178 yr Dirrty was the song that made me fall in love with her. So close to going Gold 15 years on. It's sad how the likes of Feel This Moment has sold more than Stripped classics like The Voice Within and CHUD. :( (I know, sales climate etc) Shocked at a #17 download-only single from 2007 outselling Ain't No Other Man! :o
April 19, 20178 yr ^ Dirrty already is Gold certified! It's on 460,000 combined sales (it passed 400k in December 2015).
April 19, 20178 yr The fact that 'Feel This Moment' has sold more than both 'Hurt' and 'Fighter' is one of the worst things I've ever found out about the British public. In the words of Kim Woodburn on This Morning; "well there is no accounting for taste dear, is there". Indeed Kim, indeed.
April 19, 20178 yr Ugh. IKR?! Can't believe that 'Feel This Moment' tripe is above what it is! Although not surprising, I'm very saddened that 'I Turn To You' did absolutely NOTHING! Her most underrated and under appreciated ever! It always baffles me as to how big 'Moves Like Jagger' is! Like, I seriously don't understand! 'Nobody Wants To Be Lonely' is a forgotten pop masterpiece too! BOP! 'The Voice Within' is a LOT lower than I imagined it would be. It's my absolute favourite from her, but I always thought it was top 10 in her best sellers, so #19 is a bit of a shock to see tbh! :o
April 19, 20178 yr 18 CAN'T HOLD US DOWN CHRISTINA AGUILERA FEAT LIL' KIM 6 2003 Underrated gem. The fact Beautiful isn't top 5 at LEAST is a f'n joke.
April 20, 20178 yr Author Discounting her collaborations, Christina hasn't had a hit song since the Back to Basics era. Her career on The Voice is the only thing that's kept her relevant and in the limelight. Edited April 20, 20178 yr by JCM20
April 24, 20178 yr Can't believe 'Dirrty' is ahead of 'Beautiful'!! I thought at the very least it would overtake on trickle sales by now, but really I'm shocked 'Beautiful' never surpassed 'Dirrty' in its original chart run :o Also incredibly surprised to see 'Candyman' as her highest-selling from Back To Basics!
