Lmao I really don't hear Queen either at all :') I had the same initial misgivings as others but it's growing on me a lot so I really like it! Ofc it's different for them but as with Paramore I like that they are going in a different direction.

This is BRILLIANT. Loud and beefy and roudy and everything I didn't know I needed from FOB *.* Extra hyped for the album now!
While the song is nothing to write home about, at least the band is changing it up because the last couple of albums were throwaway and nothing special. They were really just coasting on their 2007 fame and it's getting hella boring.
I agree that AB/AP was pretty boring by their standards but Save Rock and Roll was a good comeback mainly because of the mini movie thing they did with their music videos/The Young Blood Chronicles *.*
I ended up loving AB/AP, I think I might say it's my favourite album of theirs now. One of the few bands who've never had a duff period or any signs of slowing down for me, and this is exactly the song they needed to keep it going.
The new single is great and the video is so powerful! I dunno what y'all are hearing as I am hearing an aboslutely amazing lead single and I am so excited for this entire campaign! The song is beautiful and I am addicted to it.

I don't see why so many people hate on FOB for changing up their style since they got back together, bands need to experiment with new sounds and change it up so they aren't churning out the same stuff. New stuff has been different, and definitely a bit more mainstream, but still very good music, not to everyone's tastes I understand, but good nonetheless

Yea exactly, bands have to evolve if they're going to progress with different music trends etc and I think Fall Out Boy have always been sorta outside of any genre anyway, there's always been various elements influencing them so I never really felt you could say "Oh they're a pop punk band" or "they're just a rock band", they just have their own distinct sound so I think it's pretty easy for them to experiment. Clearly Mania is going to be very electronic and poppy in comparison to anything else but I welcome it and being a long term fan of them, I trust where they're taking this new direction, I love Young and Menace so much, I hope there's more of that sorta thing on the rest of the album

I also think when a band has a really distinctive vocalist who isn't just limited to one style, they can pull of a genre switch and Patrick Stump has one of the most unique sounding voices I've ever heard. Look at the likes of Paramore or Panic! AT The Disco, Hayley and Brendon are both insanely talented singers who can pretty much sing anything which is probs why their movement away from their original sound works so well.
