That DJ Khaled song is :puke: I swear pop/chart music has declined massively since 2015. On the plus side, it'd be nice to have a fast #1 turnover for once. I just hope something manages to kick this off number one PRONTO.

Agreed, it has got worse since 2015 purely because the tropical saturation has got too much and now the Chainsmokers have came along and basically ruined music.

The Chainsmokers have ruined music? Oh please. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they've ruined music.

At the end of the day, if the UK didn't like them then they wouldn't be doing well in the charts ;)

Yeah the pop scene is definitely going through a lull - there are just no big hitters besides Ed. There was the EDM electro-pop domination from 2009-11 but at least we had the likes of Black Eyed Peas, Lady GaGa, Rihanna etc making it interesting. Most chart hits sound interchangeable to me hence why I rarely listen to the chart atm. :( I think it will improve with time though.

Chart dance isn't great any more either....much too minimal and beige imo. Yes the Disciples song is a bit better than the usual dance in the charts but its still very minimal and dull imo.

Shame the OneRepublic track is falling away - it's absolutely superb and not at ALL tropical (there's a difference between tropical and acoustic).

Good to see I'm The One and First Time stablising, hopefully the former can be top 3 and the latter top 15 ^_^

Sorry but Katy deserves to flop with this. It's total dross. :puke2:

I hope DJ Kaled gets knocked off asap too, it really is so dull and uninteresting.

The charts are looking pretty dire at the moment, I miss the days of Starships, sexy bitch, I'm in Miami bitch, only girl, we found love etc etc..

The OneRepublic song is very tropical sounding to me! It's like a cross between Shape of You and Margaret's Cool Me Down I think.

listen to Light My Body Up by David Guetta - it's practically a 2017 version of a few of those songs mixed together :D

1 DJ Khaled - I'm the One (feat. Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper & Lil Wayne) 1.0000

2 Clean Bandit - Symphony (feat. Zara Larsson) 0.7007

DJ Khaled building up a very nice lead now. I reckon this'll go straight in at #1... and stay there for the next 15 weeks.

Hopefully it'll pick up again when airplay starts.

Please don't :( I've got an awful feeling it will.

Oh that title reminds me too much of aelf immolation and so I can't listen to that :/

I meant because the world and his dog now seem to be copying their sound and it's infected the commercial music landscape, rather than specifically alluding to my dislike of them.

I am sure some other genre of dance pop (a beige chilled one probably as Spotify streamers are not ready for anything too lively) will be arriving in the chart at the end of this year.

Nah LMBU is basically a poppier version of Beez In The Trap, so absolute tune

I'm still not convinced I'm The One will go #1 just yet, depends if its makes a big climb on Spotify tomorrow. Considering Spotify isn't updating AGAIN and the song doesn't appear to be on any big UK playlists, it's doubtful
Would people really be loving I'm The One and Despacito so much if Justin Bieber didn't feature?! I think not  The public are such sheep it's unreal.
