Ayala was born in Río Piedras, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and was raised in the neighborhood of Villa Kennedy Housing Projects. He is known as the "King of Reggaetón". Ayala aspired to be a professional baseball player, and tried out for the Seattle Mariners of the Major League Baseball. Before he could be officially signed, he was hit by a stray round from an AK-47 rifle while taking a break from a studio recording session with reggaeton mix tape icon DJ Playero. Ayala spent roughly one and a half years recovering from the wound; the bullet was never removed from his hip, and he credits the shooting incident with allowing him to focus entirely on a music career. Since then, he has sold over 18 million albums. - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History Luis Fonsi 2017 01 Despacito (Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat. They are the first and, so far, only group to win the competition. Following their victory, they signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Music and released a cover of Damien Rice's "Cannonball" as their winner's single. The members are Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson. Little Mix released their debut album DNA in 2012, which peaked inside the top 10 in ten countries including the UK and US. This made Little Mix the first girl group since the Pussycat Dolls to reach the US top 5 with their debut album, as well as earning the highest debut US chart position by a British girl group, breaking the record previously held by the Spice Girls. In the UK, the album spawned the number-one single "Wings". The group's sophomore effort Salute, which was released in 2013, became their second album to debut inside the top 10 in both the UK and US. The album produced two top 10 singles in their home country; "Move" and "Salute". Little Mix released their third studio album Get Weird in 2015 and it is their best-selling and longest charting album to date in the UK. The album's lead single "Black Magic" reached number one in the UK and was also nominated for two Brit Awards in 2016. The group's 2016 fourth studio album Glory Days became their first number one album in the UK and was also the longest reigning girl group Number 1 since the Spice Girls' debut album 20 years ago. The album's lead single "Shout Out to My Ex" became the group's fourth UK number one single. The group has received several awards during their career, including two MTV Europe Music Awards, two Teen Choice Awards and two Glamour Awards. They have also been nominated for two Brit Awards and one Japanese MTV Video Music Awards. As of October 2016 the group has achieved four platinum certified albums and eleven certified singles in the UK. - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History Little Mix 2011 01 Cannonball -NAS- 2012 01 Wings -1- 2012 03 DNA -2- 2013 12 Change Your Life -3- 2013 16 How Ya Doin'? May 26, 20179 yr This week is so good for music, hoping for quite a few new entries next week! Rita's is fab & the Little Mix remix version is incredible as well *.* (the original is now my favourite Little Mix song!). And ofc Carly as well even though that won't make the top 40 unfortunately.
May 26, 20179 yr For an all-conquering chart hit, Despacito is really good and I bet it will hold up to repeat plays (although I'll have to look into adding the non-Bieber version to my playlist).
May 26, 20179 yr When I played "I'm The One" in my DJ set last week a couple of people asked what it was because they really liked it. (They could have just used Shazam really but yeah). Popular - and the bassline is very catchy. Are you afraid of interacting with your audience these days?
May 26, 20179 yr Are you afraid of interacting with your audience these days? Haha no it's nice when some come to chat but others are incredibly irritating  "Where's my song? Play it next. It's my friend's birthday. We're leaving in a minute. Play my song now. Everyone will love it." etc
May 26, 20179 yr Haha no it's nice when some come to chat but others are incredibly irritating  "Where's my song? Play it next. It's my friend's birthday. We're leaving in a minute. Play my song now. Everyone will love it." etc  That reminds me of a school Christmas party (back in the 1970s :drama: ) when a group of us spent half the evening pestering the DJ to play Santana's version of She's Not There. He relented in the end
May 26, 20179 yr A little bit of a shame Ariana was so close but missed out on the top 10 but still a wonderful tribute. Yasss at French Montana continuing to climb (hope he can get a top 5 peak?), Charlie Puth making the top 10 (still can't believe he's made such a good song) and Future also hitting a new peak *.* Tuned in for the first time in a few weeks so heard a good number of songs for the first time, 'Swish Swish' is another really good track from Katy Perry, really enjoying this era of hers thus far (seems to be all over the place genre-wise but I like her 'experimenting' a bit). Can't say such high praise about Selena Gomez, Niall Horan, Maggie Lindemann, Miley Cyrus and Jonas Blue tho. Oop.
