I will be closing this at 12.00 tonight, any votes after that will not be counted when the next round is up, looks like the most interesting battle we've had yet.
I'm surprised Applause is this disliked, I haven't listened to it for ages but I thought it was okay for what it was at the time.

"Okay" is simply not good enough within her back catalogue.

 

I actually don't dislike it as a song.. it's just really really subpar for her in comparison to what else she's released and just there. Certainly in my bottom 3 singles from her.

Applause isn't that bad at all. It's a solid bop. It SHOULDN'T have been lead single - that shoulda been ARTPOP or Gypsy - but as a song itself it is better than a lot of others, e.g The Cure, that she's put out.
