Yeah it really is solid from start to end. Not quite emotion but the quality is still there.

I was commisioned to write about this & i had to say this...

‘Dedicated’ is the fourth album from Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen and is the follow up to 2015s acclaimed ‘E*MO*TION’.

Following up to a much-loved album can always be a tricky task; some artists try to replicate their previous successes, while some artists go in a completely different direction…Carly has gone with a mixture of both. It would be delusional to say that ‘Dedicated’ has strings of inspiration from its previous work; but there isn’t a moment where it feels like she’s trying to regurgitate the same work. The album follows a clear cut narrative of unrequited love, failing relationships and self love through icy and synthy beats; with a big 80s influence...

Her faves are my faves

Her reaction to Want You in My Room! That should be everyone's reaction to pop perfection.

Happy Not Knowing is my favourite track, feeling it's rather underrated.

One of my favourites too!

26-184... for Dedicated in the UK, ugh :(

I'm glad it's not just me then! Good God though that's a mighty drop, hopefully it's a bubbler.

The best song on the album! The video looks like fun from the very short clip, I'm looking forward to seeing it
The video compliments the song perfectly. One of my favourite songs/videos of the year quite easily! Carly definitely needs to work with Jack Antonoff again in the future.
Best song on the album and the video is FAB.

It really is a shame how little fanfare this album has had. Emotion at least had some cult acclaim but this has largely flown by unnoticed?

I reckon it’s because EMOTION took us all by surprise, following on from the Kiss era which was essentially only celebrated by the vast majority for Call Me Maybe. Carly demonstrated there was more to her than that, which was pretty exciting. Dedicated lacked that kind of shock factor, because people now know what she is capable of. Maybe it didn’t help that there was a 4 year gap between the albums either.

Popjustice forum members have mostly been very into this era, there’s been lots of discussion about it (well over 9,000 posts). I know it’s a much bigger forum than BuzzJack, but relatively speaking this forum has given Carly the cold shoulder this era. Just 4 pages for this album. Ava Max has 12 pages for her recent single! I would have thought that Want You in My Room would be a song that BuzzJack would respond well to, but sadly the collective shrug continues. It’s a shame!
