Biography

Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn (born November 20, 1983), known professionally as Future, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Wilburn first became involved in music as part of the Dungeon Family collective, where he was nicknamed "the Future". After amassing a series of mixtapes between 2010 and 2011, Future signed a major record label deal with Epic Records and A1 Recordings, which helped launch Future's own label imprint, Freebandz. He subsequently released his debut album, Pluto, in April 2012 to positive reviews. Future's second album, Honest, was released in April 2014, surpassing his debut on the album charts.

Between late 2014 and early 2015, he released a trio of mixtapes: Monster (2014), Beast Mode (2015), and 56 Nights (2015). His next releases, DS2 (2015), What a Time to Be Alive (2015, in collaboration with Drake), EVOL (2016), FUTURE (2017) and HNDRXX (2017) all debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200. The latter two made him the first artist to debut to two albums consecutively at the top of that chart. Future has also released several singles certified gold or higher by the RIAA, including "Turn On the Lights", "Move That Dope", "F**k Up Some Commas", "Where Ya At", "Jumpman", and "Low Life". - Wikipedia

Biography

William John Paul "Liam" Gallagher (born 21 September 1972) is an English musician, singer, and songwriter. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the rock band Oasis, and later as the singer of Beady Eye, before performing as a solo artist after the dissolution of both previous bands. His erratic behaviour, distinctive singing style, and abrasive attitude have been the subject of commentary in the press; he remains one of the most recognisable figures in modern British music.

Although his older brother Noel wrote the majority of Oasis' songs, Liam penned the singles "Songbird" and "I'm Outta Time", along with a string of album tracks and B-sides. Noel departed Oasis in 2009 and formed Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, while Liam continued with the former members of Oasis under the Beady Eye name until they disbanded in 2014.

Gallagher was voted the greatest frontman of all time in a 2010 reader poll by Q magazine. - Wikipedia

One of the songs of the year so far  Wall Of Glass is incredible!

21 is a shame, I do think Liam deserves top 20 with this but it's not exactly a relevant sound I guess.

It's far better than anything Beady Eye came up with and would have been a pretty easy #1 at any time between 1995-2002, quite a lot better than a lot of 00s Oasis singles imo.

Quite liking this Liam Gallagher track. I've really been missing rock and indie from the chart - surely we are due another renaissance soon! The mid-noughties indie invasion was the best

I can only hope that one week the indie playlist effect will cause What You Know or Naive to re-enter the top 40, it's lovely to hear indie/rock sounds in the chart at the moment, really freshens it up!

Liam Gallagher providing a very rare dose of rock in the top 40 *.*! please stick around for more than a week?

+ Don't Look Back in Anger re-entering is amazing <3

Biography

Edward Christopher Sheeran (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter, guitarist and record producer. He was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and raised in Framlingham, Suffolk. He attended the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Surrey, as an undergraduate from the age of 18 in autumn 2009. In early 2011, Sheeran independently released the extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project. After signing with Asylum Records, his debut album, + (read as "plus"), was released on 9 September 2011 and has since been certified seven-times platinum in the UK. The album contains the single "The A Team", which earned him the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act.

Sheeran's popularity abroad began in 2012. In the US, he made a guest appearance on Taylor Swift's fourth studio album, Red. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he performed the song with Elton John. He spent much of 2013 opening for Swift's The Red Tour in North America dates. His second studio album, x (read as "multiply"), was released on 23 June 2014. It peaked at number one in the UK and the US. In 2015, x won the Brit Award for Album of the Year, and he received the Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year. His single from x, "Thinking Out Loud", earned him two Grammy Awards at the 2016 ceremony: Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Sheeran's third album, ÷ ("divide"), was released in March 2017. The album debuted at number one in the UK, the US and other major markets. The first two singles from the album, "Shape of You" and "Castle on the Hill", were released in January 2017 and broke records in a number of countries, including the UK, Australia and Germany, by debuting in the top two positions of the charts. He also became the first artist to have two songs debut in the US top 10 in the same week. Sheeran appeared on Debrett's 2017 list of the most influential people in the UK. - Wikipedia

Biography

Los Angeles-based electronic trio Cheat Codes debuted in 2015 with their single "Visions," a floor-filling, radio-ready bite of house in a vein similar to Avicii and Swedish House Mafia. The three members of the group -- Matthew Russell, Trevor Dahl, and Kevin Ford -- each have deep roots in L.A., working on individual projects before joining forces for Cheat Codes (Dahl once performed as singer/songwriter Pluginstereo). Their different backgrounds helped inform Cheat Codes' stylistically varied sound, which can range from warm pop to outright big house bangers. After the release of "Visions," they quickly followed with the tropical-tinged "Don't Say No" (featuring Dresses), "Senses" (featuring Lostboycrow), and "Adventure" (featuring Evan Wartner). As they gained exposure on social media and spins on streaming services (over 55 million on Spotify, plus 15 million on YouTube), they joined the Chainsmokers on tour. Successive singles continued to drop into 2016, when they unveiled "Sex" (featuring Kris Kross Amsterdam), which borrowed the sentiment and chorus from the Salt-N- Pepa classic "Let's Talk About Sex." - iTunes

Biography

A South London-based commercial dance production team, Disciples consists of Nathan Duvall, Gavin Koolmon, and Luke McDermott. Duvall and Koolmon previously recorded under the aliases Stylistix ("How Soon") and Kool & Duvall ("U Lift Me Up"). The trio debuted in 2013 on the New State Music label with Remedy EP, the title track of which was played by BBC DJs Target and Trevor Nelson. Their profile increased after they signed to Pete Tong's Parlophone-supported FFRR label, where they issued 2014-2015 singles such as "Catwalk" and "They Don't Know," the latter of which went to number 24 on the U.K. pop chart. That success primed them for a couple major collaborations issued during the second half of 2015: "Yellow," with Robin Schulz, and "How Deep Is Your Love," made with songwriter/vocalist Ina Wroldsen and co-producer Calvin Harris. The latter song narrowly missed the top of the U.K. chart, reached the Top 30 of the U.S. Hot 100, and made major impressions in several other territories. By the end of the year, Disciples were promoting another release, The Following EP. - iTunes

The longevity this has had has been very surprising! Still sounding pretty fresh in the sun - now's about the time for them to release a big follow-up, after this and You Don't Know Me it's quite obvious that with the right support, the UK house sound can still produce a hit.
Galway Girl remaining top 20 is a good result. I would think this will eventually cross 1 million.
