 21. Olly Murs & Louisa Johnson - Unpredictable

Performed on 'The One Show' tonight!

357. Bruno Mars & David Guetta - Versace On The Floor (Bruno Mars vs. David Guetta)

And David Guettas identity crisis continues as apparently he is now copying Calvin Harris' new funk era, shortly after releasing the Chainsmokers copy "2U".

In the last 2 years we've seen him go from DJ Snake to Robin Schulz to The Chainsmokers and now to Calvin Harris. Rest In Piece any future chance of him producing a #1 without it being stuffed with guest features

I would say 2U sounds more like a Zedd production rather than Chainsmokers. :P

His songs have always had features since he has been big though.

Exactly  He's been working with big name pop/RnB singers ever since Kelly Rowland in 2009. Granted he has had a few hits with lesser names too (Chris Willis, pre-fame Sia, Sam Martin, Taped Rai, Skylar Grey, Showtek) but still.
The new David Guetta is a remix of a Bruno album track that was obviously going to be selected as 3rd single - I think it's a sensible move. However there is absolutely none of his identity on it! I quite like the remix though.

That's my point though  If he made a new song now with some random, never before heard commercially, singer like Sam Martin but with the bland production style he's taking on today it would barely scrape the charts. The only reason 2U charted so high was because it had the one & only Justin Bieber. If he had have released 2U with an unknown artist (or just someone who hasn't had several big hits before) it wouldn't have charted anywhere near as high as it did.

That said, though, Light My Body Up had Nicki Minaj & Lil Wayne (both huge by their own merit) and still flopped. The difference between his "big" collabs today and the ones from 3+ years ago is purely his lack of identity. Look at his last 7 singles and tell me what they have in common other than "David Guetta" (whoever that even is these days)

This Ones For You (feat. Zara Larsson)

Would I Lie To You (with Cedric Gervais & Chris Willis)

Shed a Light (with Robin Schulz feat. Cheat Codes)

Light My Body Up (feat. Nicki Minaj & Lil Wayne)

Another Life (with Afrojack feat. Ester Dean)

2U (feat. Justin Bieber)

Versace On The Floor (Bruno Mars x David Guetta)

I genuinely think at this point he's just throwing out any old garbage and hoping it becomes wildly successful, then abandoning that style as soon as it inevitably flops. 2U has done reasonably well Chart wise worldwide which makes me believe his next singles will be more Zedd/The Chainsmokers than ever. It's a shame really because he used to be one of the most successful dance producers in the world and had some really rest albums. R.I.P Guetta

I agree it is very saddening that David Guetta for the past few years has just hopped on to whatever trend is doing well in the chart at the moment to the point where he's lost his identity. There's a big difference between reinventing yourself like Calvin Harris did and just chasing cheap hits.
The sound I really want to hear David Guetta copying, as he's done it before I'm sure and there's a big gap in the marketplace for, is Avicii.

Well he already did that with Lovers On The Sun, which to be fair was coproduced by Avicii (and I wouldn't be surprised if Avicii just produced it entirely and gave it to David).

The Avicii sound sadly doesn't make a chart hit anymore, it doesn't help that Avicii's not released anything in ages too and I actually expect his return single will underperform.
