That first half was not enjoyable at all, it was proper squeaky bum time. City did exactly the same thing at the weekend, I do wonder if it was partly our game plan to conserve energy, but who cares - we're through and deservedly too. 3 defeats in a row for City too.

Incredible from Roma too, looks like they deserved it too. Just need Madrid to collapse now tomorrow night!

Good riddance to Man City, the media and loads of pundits awarded them the Champions League trophy well before Christmas but for me it was never in doubt that they would fail to win this competition this season and those people will feel like mugs now.

Very surprised at Roma knocking Barcelona out, the odds of that happening before today must have been long. It would have been nice to see an El Classico final this season but it was not to be. Real Madrid vs Bayern is the next hope now!

I think City are an incredible team, but Pep went all out 2nd half. At times it was 4 vs 3 in midfield, but we coped well. But there was no way they could play at that same intensity again, hence why they reverted to their normal style and we played a few players wider and deeper to give them more problems to think about. They are a great side no doubt about it, but they just got out schooled by Klopp and didn't get some luck (i.e. if that 2nd goal had gone in from Sane then the 2nd half is completely different).

It's looking quite rosy for Liverpool now after Barca got eliminated, I hope they don't win it but they've got a fantastic chance of reaching the final now.

All the teams are tough, never say never, anything can happen. For one I am just happy to be in the semi-finals and looking forward to playing a European giant. With our attack and our much improved defensively stability we have as much chance as any of the 3 other teams left in the competition come tomorrow evening.

At least it's good to have 4 different countries represented in the Semi-Finals*, must be the first season in a long while that's been the case. I'm very torn with supporting Liverpool as I did with Chelsea back in '12. I'd generally back any English team in the CL (bar City) but can't be having them with double our number of European titles!

*OK we're not quite able to say that yet but really can't see Bayern or Real flopping like Barca did tonight.

Anyone can win it by this stage. This is the furthest Roma have got since 1984 when Liverpool beat them in the final on pens #grobelaarwobblylegs
What drama that was in the Real vs Juve game! I feel sorry for Juventus after making that comeback only to be denied with practically the last kick of the game from the penalty spot by Ronaldo. Real Madrid should count themselves extremely lucky tonight.

Well that nearly happened lol. Bit gutted as I had money on Juve winning the tie but no-one can stop Zidane's Real in the comp!

Buffon "If a referee doesn't have the courage & personality to manage a game on the pitch, then he should sit in the stands alongside his wife and have some chips."

Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid

Liverpool vs Roma

Of course on paper it looks the easiest tie, but there are no easy ties at all. Personally I would have rather played Real Madrid over two legs as I think they are beatable, but in a final they are likely to be a different class if we get that far.

And lest not forget Roma overhauled the mighty Barca by a 3-goal deficit last time out & iirc haven't conceded a home goal all season in the comp? In that sense it's probably best for Pool to have the first leg at home and try to "get the job done" like in the last round.

This was such nonsense. Yes, because a referee should oversee a game through sentiment over proper officiating. It was 100% a penalty, in fact fair play he had the courage to give it. Buffon is a legend of the game but came out of this looking like a right donkey.

Well what a rollercoaster that was 5-0 up and then conceding 2 in the last ten, it's never easy! Still have work to do in Rome - come on the reds!!
Quite a performance from Mo Salah last night. Surely Roma can't do it again in the second leg?
At this moment I definitely believe they can lol

I would be shocked if Roma could pull it off, for one if they play a high line against us again, you could bank on us to score at least 1. Of course they will be full of optimism after the Barcelona result, but Barcelona also turned up there expecting the win to be a formality and they do not have the sheer pace in the their front players that Liverpool do.

It will be a tough game of course but Roma were pretty average at Anfield. We legitimately could have scored 8 goals against them.

It's looking like it's going to be a Real Madrid Vs Liverpool final after this week's results. That match on paper looks like one that would be full of goals.
