Although tbf, it's nice to know Honey and Billy (especially the former) are getting a decent storyline/some screen time after months of doing sod all!

It seems like this "big news" is going to be a returning female character. I see Tamzin Outhwaite is a name that's circling and someone's edited her Wiki page: "Since coming to national notice playing Melanie Owen in the BBC One soap opera EastEnders from 1998 until 2002 and then from 2018 onwards". No source of course! :P

 

Safe to say I'm excited, whatever this news may be. All will be revealed at 8pm, I just hope it's not a damp squib.

I am thinking Kat because of the high heels teaser, idk if I want that :/

I dunno, she was a pretty major character back in the day and people have been calling for a return for years. I hope this leads to another Lisa return as well.

The way they hyped it on Twitter I was expecting Janine or Kat, you know, someone younger viewers would know, but I'm pretty thrilled about this all the same. She was a leading lady back in the day and by all accounts Tamzin is a great actress (and has had a very good career post-Eastenders). Don't know what she could be returning for but in a way that makes it all the more exciting. Plus it opens up an opportunity for Lisa to come back again too.

Tamzin is a huge coup for the show in its current state. To have a fab actress from the show's golden era will do no harm! Now we need Lisa to return again...

Liked the sibling rivalry between Luke and Fi tonight but I just cannot warm to Luke as a character at all :mellow:

I think more would know her; Dot, Sonia, Robbie, Kathy, Martin and maybe others, like possibly Louise off screen.

I was more thinking about the characters who had storylines with her. Intrigued by this comeback.

Mel Owen is a FABULOUS character to bring back. She made such an impact on the show in just 4 years. I understand that younger viewers won't know her, but hopefully she will prove why this is such big news. She is up there with Ronnie and Sharon in terms of iconic blondes who don't take any shit (infact I often said that Ronnie was Mel Mark II, just a little more deranged.)

 

She will be known by a lot of characters who are still there too.
