Wish I joined them tbh, what a horrendously dull episode. I like that James coming back at least gives Kathy something of a purpose, but we did not need a whole episode of it...

I thought the same to begin with but I thought it got better as the episode went on. Gillian may not be the most talented actress but she knows Kathy inside out and she played her perfectly tonight. The narrating of events was actually 100% accurate, having just watched the episode of Kathy's rape a few days ago, and it was great to see JWB trying to conceal his squirming as he knew what Kathy was saying was true. I was expecting Kathy to finish off by calling him out for exactly what he was - a rapist - but it felt like the show or the BBC were trying to avoid using that word, which is really wrong I think.

 

I still don't really know what purpose tonight's scenes actually held but, as I said, Gillian gave a really great performance.

EE only won Sexiest Male (Kush) @ the Inside Soap Awards :lol: Gillian Taylforth also got an Outstanding Achievement award.

 

Awful result, but hardly surprising.

I actually liked the Kathy/James scenes, they were suitably dramatic though I was willing Kathy to actually say the word ‘rape’.

 

Billy and Tina seemed like comedy filler in comparison. Yes, you run over a girl with Down syndrome and immediately shag her father?
