It happens across all UK soaps and people cheer them on getting beaten up easily by weaker women, or losing their money to men, etc. I think it says a lot about our society.

Agreed. It is sexist.

It is also so anti-abortion you'd be forgiven for thinkin it was written by the Catholic League!

Oh can we please not with 'the show is sexist'? Plenty of male characters have been left penniless (Ian, Alfie, Martin to name a few) and just becaus it hasn't happened to Phil and Jack doesn't mean they haven't suffered. Jack was shit in the head and lost his wife to a freak accident and his son died of cot death. Phil has been shot twice, been in prison multiple times for crimes he didn't commit and almost died of liver failure. Many women have also been shown to be successful in business over the years: Ronnie wasn't wanting for anything before Jack showed up again, Peggy was at the helm of the Vic for over a decade and Kathy and Pat both had hands in successful businesses.

Phil dragging Lisa out was in character and doesn't prove EE to be sexist. It proved that Phil is sexist which isn't anything knew. The writing for Phil and Lisa's relationship has been so on point, it's literally one if the only things the show has gotten right this year. Lisa was always desperate and needy and on the verge of a breakdown. Phil always resented her, even when in a relationship with her. So please, can we get back to viewing the show, instead of trying to find literally any way to become a social justice warrior.

Anti-abortion? Didn't Lauren just have one? Haven't several characters had one previously? Remember when Bianca aborted her daughter in the 90s?

I have to say I do feel sorry for Dot. Imagine being forced to live with both Robbie AND Sonia. I'd rather live alone.

The Lisa and Phil writing is spot-on. Sharon believes they have both changed but they each know they haven't - they're both just as messed-up as always and their relationship is just as toxic as ever. Lisa is a JOY.
I wish Donna got something to do other than bitching about money. The actress can pull it off so I don't see why they can't give her anything.

Lmao I've said that to my mum since Fi came in

I thought it was obvious the minute she entered the show that Fi was bonking Max. He doesn't introduce an attractive female into the show unless he's sticking something inside her every night. He's Max Branning! The whole point of all this 'changed man' nonsense is that he hasn't changed a bit.

This whole storyline needs to pick up pace now.

Lisa seems to have a split personality disorder reading between the lines through that episode.
Charlie Brooks has YET AGAIN ruled out a return.

We desperately need Janine back. On second thoughts, perhaps it's best to wait for the writing to improve first...

tbf she carried the show during the last dry period, so you never know!

Urgh, I really wanted Shirley to maul Whitney during all of that.

Can't help stanning Lisa and Abi tho. Nu Ablisa tbh *.*

If they don't share a scene before Lisa leaves, I will BATTER someone.
