Ugh, this is gonna be awful isn't it.

It isn't awful it's classic C&S sounds like both artists have gone back to 2010 when they were at their best - and it ain't a backwards step, it sounds brilliant!

but it's a bit of a regression for C&S, like returning to the No More Idols sound of 2011

Prob the best track to lead the album as it's more pop imo, Emeli always sounds great on high tempo drum and bass too! They do it much better than anyone else!

Production sounds very Naughty Boy and the whole song is typical early 10's but that is honestly no bad thing! Great to hear, loving the proposed featured artists on the album too.

 

One thing I'd say is that it sounds more breakbeat than D&B.

Hopefully they can return to their drum and bass golden era :please:

Just listening to this now, and it's about right with what I was expecting but it doesn't really impress me much. Forgettable.

That's what I was thinking - it sounds just like 'Heaven' with different lyrics. On paper, it should be great, but I feel it doesn't bring anything new to the table so just doesn't stand out in its own right. If I wanted to hear 'Heaven', I'd listen to 'Heaven'.

guess the album is not gonna include all the singles from last year? Really liked Control but some of the others were a bit meh, especially Spoken word

Just listened to the new single, we've already had the accurate description: sounds like "Heaven" part 2 without it feeling like it is really going anywhere... :/ I'm sure it'll grow though.

To be fair, 'Heaven' is the best Emeli Sande song and this type of dance music isn't prevalent anymore. I think it's the perfect balance of fresh and nostalgic (for the mid 10's :lol:).
