February 24, 20187 yr the fact that niall didnt promoted it in the uk... no performances after the album release, not even the x factor, the voice, brits... hes 15k away from gold btw
February 24, 20187 yr Yeah certifications elsewhere are a lot lower sales. Tbh I think all their solo albums have sold poorly. The Spice Girls were all dropped with similar or higher album sales than those.

The Spice Girls were all dropped with similar or higher album sales than those. Times are very different to the mass sales of the 90's and early 00's though. However I do agree sales for the 1D guys have been lower than expected. Although I think in Niall's case he was a background member of the band rather than Liam, Zayn and Harry and therefore I think he's done well
February 24, 20187 yr I'm rather surprised that it's only sold enough for Silver in the UK when it's 2x Platinum in Ireland and Platinum in other major markets! I wonder if it's just due to varying certification thresholds or something else. I'm wondering if the fact he's Irish has been a contributing factor to his comparative bigger success in Ireland?
February 25, 20187 yr I'm wondering if the fact he's Irish has been a contributing factor to his comparative bigger success in Ireland? You've missed my point, and I don't appreciate the sarcasm. I'm saying it must be rare for an Irish artist to be performing better globally than in the UK. Obviously it's based on one album and certifications don't tell the whole story, but for now he's platinum in 4 other countries and not even gold in the UK - is that not surprising? Glad to hear he's 15k away from getting there.

There was not a single hint of sarcasm intended in that post, and I'm completely perplexed as to how you perceived it that way.
June 18, 20187 yr The album to my understanding is now on the verge of Gold in the UK. For Niall, by large i think his first solo era was much more successful than many expected considering he wasn't always at the forefront of the band or had lead vocal on any of their major hits.

July 26, 20186 yr Ik this isn't about this era but it doesn't really need a new thread, but rumour has it that Niall is on the new Carrie Underwood album :o
August 9, 20186 yr A couple of features will be good for him as it keeps his name on the market and possibly pick up some extra sales of his album in very low numbers.
