No. You won't. You will tell them privately. I have actually only ever seen you publicly come for my songs come to think of it...

 

I even admit mine was a little beige last month but I sent it as that is the fad!! I also admit mine is not gonna qualify and will get around 0 points this month. I am also calling people out on the increasing popularity divide and how it affects the contest because it does, especially with hype and anti hype trains.

 

Then you don't look hard enough.

 

If you send a song you know people won't like then you can bitch and whine when it doesn't do well. You've done well in the past because you actually send decent songs. If you send something you know won't do well then you can sit and call it beaverism or whatever the hell you call it, it's nobodys fault but your own if you send something nobody will want to vote for.

I just reminded tou how I have criticised Ultra's songs rven though she is one of my faves. I have done it with Pupok. I have been on both sides with Silas regardless of the fact we do not um see eye to eye. You however are a wallflower to those you like and hold up a megaphone to those you don't. This is a common theme here, not just you.

And again I am not complaining it won't Q. I just wanted y'all to hear it, and maybe this argument will get more people to hear it and maybe keep it for sumner like I do. What I am complaining about is the double standards vs less popular people.

Oh another one: Brer and Jerd arnd Cameron are also three of my faves but I have come for their songs a lot too. All of them can confirm this. Codyfloppingberry doesn't like me but I like him and I have come for his. This happened just last month. Check the predictions and odds threads. Others will not come for them as they are more popular, nor meh them, but would with me, as you have shown. Oh wait - sorry, my bad. You HAVE come for someone else on BJ And Plug regarding their entries - Floppingberry!!! What. A. Surprise. That TOTALLY disproves what I was saying, doesn't it.

I don't even know what point you're trying to make, I've said what I need to say. Continue waffling your usual shit.

You and many others onky come for people's entries strongly whn that person is personally disliked by them and/ or unpopular. This creates hype trains for more popular people more easily and anti-hype trains against the less popular. People are quicker to meh the less popular and criticise openly - you are a case in point of this.

 

To summarise :)

Don't act you're the only one who dares criticise the entries of people you like. Some of my fave people on the site have sent bad entries (mdh, Pete etc). We all do because it's a song contest not a popularity contest. :rolleyes:

 

Please send some good entries again, people don't like your current entry because it's dull and boring.

We've run anonymous contests (no variation in results) and we manipulated the semi draw a couple of years later to break "voting blocs" up and guess what? There was no variation in results *pretends to be shocked*

If it was about popularity or the more popular people getting an easy ride, the likes of say Jade, Bre or Lotti were top 10 in the rate would never DNQ, and always do well, but they do DNQ. I think about the only vague thing you could say about popularity is that maybe people are more hyped for entries from the "bigger" countries (for want of a better phrase), and that's not in the "hype train" way you're saying but I for example have my few fave countries who I usually listen to first becaue I tend to like their entries. I expect a lot of people are excited to hear say Aeorche because they usually pull off a good song.

 

But exactly, as Dan people I am really close to and adore on this site such as Lotti or Lew have sent awful entries and I've said it, whether it's to them, on here, on plug, whatever. You can make as many excuses as you want but at the end of the day your song is shit in my opinion so I didn't like it. It's a click of a button on an intenret music sharing service how the hell is it made into such a shitstorm on here? :/ People meh it because they don't like it, whether you send it, Jade sends it or bloody hotlady returns and sends it :lol: I mehd for example Bre's song on plug and I have no personal probelms with him and get on with him, I just didn't like the song. You don't get a god given right to a nicer reception because you send something different :lol:

Anonymous contests? I assume everyone pmed their friends etc saying who they were.

 

The semi-draws? Ok, that I can accept ... IF, like any scietific investigation, it was done enough times for a large enough sample size to be taken.

 

However, regarding WINNERS and top10s, have you analysed the effect hype trains have and how they adversely affect the less popular and largely benefit more popular members?

I can't believe we people are still having this conversation...it is all matter of taste...michael i never had any issue with you iirc(matter fact not with anyone in here) and my music taste is really wide, i like from trance to ballads etc etc. I must say that your entry was really just there, and I appreciate your effort and intentions that you made us hear something new and unusual for this contest, but smooth pop/jazz will never have many fans...and this contest is indeed about popularity but that applies only to popular sound/songs and not person behind it...some peoples music taste is just right on point with majority and it's not their fault that they do so well. There were so many times where i confirmed a song and then changed it to something else I love more and flopped, while next month someone else confirmed the other song and finished top 5...is it their fault, no, it is my fault for not believing enough the song and myself to stick to it.
