It is amazing to see a of the old guard there like Steve Power who had produced some of Robbie's best albums to date , Robbie's early albums have always been my favourites & I am finding UTR Vol 2 really refreshing . Amazing that there is no to the album from Guy C ... it is actually thought provoking for the next album as to who he will collaborate with , I guess his open mind

This Is My f*** You To You is one of my favourites on the album, it is shame about the song title as it would never appear on a mainstrean album because of the title , it is a very good song, very easy listening "My f*** You To You". Robbie worked a lot with Fil Eisler in his early albums,

Lyrics ..

Don't show your true colours

Let them lie follow someone else's dream

One day I'll look back at this and die

But you won't know what it means

To never see me

Did we sail you down river?

Do you run around all day avoiding mirrors?

Do you find comfort in the hate

Is this abuse too late

My heart's just bleeding for you

And this is my f*** you to you

By the time you were into my blood

I was all of seventeen

You were the light of my life

And the darkness in-between

Whatever that means

Did we sail you down river?

Do you run around all day avoiding mirrors?

Do you find comfort in the hate?

Is this abuse too late

My heart's just bleeding for you

And this is my f*** you to you

I used to see you in my dreams

But I could not compete

Then you taught me the value

Of never losing sleep

How you sink like a home putting children on the street

Is it anger or sympathy

How I sail you down river?

But you must feel some disdain then I'll forgive you

All day long you are night

But I am vaguely right

My hearts just bleeding for you

This is a f*** you

This is my f*** you to you

Has anyone any opinions on the album , I only see comments under the YT videos but have not found any reviews

I found this small snippet in Pressreader - Daily Mail published December 1st

ROBBIE WILLIAMS: Under The Radar Volume 2 (RobbieWilliams.com)

Daily Mail 1 Dec 2017

THIS ‘fans only’ album is available for £10 from Robbie’s website and deserves a wider hearing. A clutch of highly-polished demos and outtakes, it veers from brash rock to sensitive balladry. The surging power pop of Run It Wild is up with the best things he’s done, and there’s an energetic cover of Dolly Parton’s 9 To 5.

Well my copy still hasn't arrived so I joined Spotify yesterday so I could listen. ^_^

I've listened once only so far.

My first impressions were - it's very eclectic, I love the lyrics, I love the diversity, I love the balls of it and unusually for me - the swing song Booty Call lept out at me immediately as brilliant. B-)

I wish he could be this individual in his mainstream albums. I wish he would go with his gut instincts instead of rubbing off the edges for the general public consumption.

I just want my physical copy to turn up so I can put it on in the car and listen properly. I'm looking forward to that.

I'm not expecting any official reviews of it. It's gone under the radar. ;)

Oh yes - I whooped out loud when I heard 9 to 5.

So much fun. :cheer:

The tracks on UTR2 are definitely edgeier that what he does on his mainstream albums, they are more stripped back, some of his more recent albums have been over produced , they have gone for BUG over quality & originality . I could not be more delighted that he released this album as I feel it is more a true reflection of him as an artist , I am loving it & several of the songs will be going on my favourite song lists

"Andy Warhol"

When I was a young boy

I was frightened of the teachers

I didn't learn nothing

Cause I couldn't understand it

I'm a little too much

Then not enough

And all the kids were violent

Cause the town was rough

Hey babies

It's the Eighties

Electric blue

Pure shock

Cocaine in the bathroom

You like my shoes?

I like your top

Oh, let's rock

We're with Andy Warhol at Studio 54

That's right, ah ha, oh yeah

When you come down

You've gotta ride the white horse

That's right, ah ha, oh yeah

Could go bananas, ah ha

I'm off this planet, ah ha

Embrace the madness, ah ha

I always felt different

The world felt strange

And if your gonna play out

Then you've got to be brave

Everyone was angry

Cause no one had nothing

And we hoped for the best

Maybe come to something

Hey babies

It's the Eighties

Success

Lighten up

Poppers on the dance floor

You like my shoes?

I like your Swatch

Oh, let's rock

We're with Andy Warhol at Studio 54

That's right, ah ha, oh yeah

The boys are with the boys

And the girls are naked on the floor

That's right, ah ha, oh yeah

Could go bananas, ah ha

I'm off this planet, ah ha

Embrace the madness, ah ha

Ha, ha, yeah

Could go bananas, ah ha

I'm off this planet, ah ha

Embrace the madness, ah ha

Ha, ha, yeah

Welcome to our club

The future has arrived

Only the chosen are allowed inside

Bowie's at the door

Tom Tom Ford

With the best of the best

And we're looking so fresh

And everybody's dressed for success

Oh yes

Hey babies

It's the Eighties

Electric blue

Pure shock

Cocaine in the bathroom

You like my shoes?

I like your top

Oh, let's rock

We're with Andy Warhol at Studio 54

That's right, ah ha, oh yeah

When you come down

You've gotta ride the white horse

That's right, ah ha, oh yeah

The boys are with the boys

And the girls are naked on the floor

That's right, ah ha, oh yeah

Could go bananas, ah ha

I'm off this planet, ah ha

Embrace the madness, ah ha

Ah ah yeah

So I had another listen on Spotify - really starting to enjoy these songs. they're so mixed -and all different genres - I love that.

On second listen I'm really enjoying Satellite, Andy Warhol is very Rudeboxy, Love both swing songs and Keep your Eyes on the Highway. Numerous others but I can't put titles to songs yet.

Hoping my CD arrives for the weekend. ^_^

The CD s beautifully presented Laura with a lovely little lyrics book which I can actually read without too much difficulty, sometimes the print in those booklets is so small it's impossible to read.

I like listening to all of the tracks together, they sound very good , all different I know but all sounding quite fresh , it's my kind of Robbie Williams album

Do you like the album Elisabeth , what do you think of it

I'm really enjoying this album but especially the last four tracks. Three very gentle, smooth tracks and then one big hitter at the end. Loving the swing and the GB.

I had them on repeat in my car this morning.

Weakness, Booty Call, On The Fence and International Entertainment. B-)

I really like this album ,it has not been overworked

It got a terrible review in the website below, 2/10 , whoever wrote that has little taste in music . The comments on YT have been very good

Each to their own. ;)

As with all his albums it needs time to permeate and this week I've had it on in my car and I'm really enjoying it.

I love the fact that there is such a mix of styles on it. I'm so glad he releases these UTR albums. They're far less homogenised than his mass release albums and I love them all the more for it. ^_^

I've always preferred pop Robbie over swing Robbie but to my surprise my two favourite songs are the swing songs. I love that he is performing his own original swing songs and they sound great. Also nice to see Fil Eisler, Neil Taylor and GB on the credits. I'm looking forward to getting to know this album better over the next few weeks.

I have not read the book yet :-), too much to get used to in the new job. But Ilisten to UTR2. I like some and some not, but both UTR, I prefer to the last regular album.
