I have not read the book yet :-), too much to get used to in the new job. But Ilisten to UTR2. I like some and some not, but both UTR, I prefer to the last regular album.

Hope new job is going well Elisabeth & that you like it

I agree with you on the UTR albums, they remind me of the albums he released in the early days ( Life Thru a Lens, Ive' Been expecting you etc ) , the type of material that I like to hear but sadly they feel it's not commercial enough , I like the Robbie with that bit of an edge doing his own thing :)

And with album sales so low generally, why not just release an album that is "him" not the commercial, edges rubbed off version? I doubt it would make much difference sales wise. He could surprise himself. Be as whacky as he likes. I'd love that. Rudebox 2 please. B-)

Someone asked RW on Upfront when My f*** You To you was recorded as they thought his voice sounded like it does now. He'd already replied that it was written in the Intensive Care era. He replied:

MFYTY is the oldest recording on UTRV2 and thats my voice from that period ...x

That would explain the Fil Eisler credit then.

That was around 2005 then , I have to say i really like UTR2 ...

I really like it too.

I haven't taken it out of the car CD since it came out.

BUT.... I don't like it as much as volume one. I love Guy Chambers stuff and he is my preferred writing partner for RW.

The GC songs on volume one are brilliant although I think my favourite song on there Bullet, is a Tim/Flynn one. So that's a bit contradictory then.

Robbie's got a great bum for nakedness :P . I am trying to imagine Robbie walking naked in the woods near his house in the country , must have been a very hot summers day & he just happened to be naked B-)

I was going to comment on that last night but I decided not to......

but as you've brought the subject up Tess......

I was going to say - it really made me chuckle when he was describing walking in the woods butt naked, like it's something we all do, every day of the week. He was so matter of fact about it.

Hope there weren't too many nettles in his garden. :arrr:

It's the cold weather I am thinking of especially this side of the world, are we sure it was in the UK. such a great idea for album photos

Have you seen the animated video for 9 - 5

I take it the reason Robbie did a video for 9-5 was that certain fans requested it , am I right

Why on earth would you pick a cover , I would have preferred to see him do a video to one of his own songs <_< , I guess I do not have those powers of persuasion to persuade him otherwise B-)

Not sure but I think a fan made it and he (or his team) picked up on it. :)

I have to say I find it really hard to keep up with all the RW stuff on the Internet these days.

I'm really happy that he doesn't "disappear" now like he used to ten years ago for months at a time, and I really love seeing him out and about, but it's hard to have time to see all the posts on various different social media sites. I know I don't watch everything.

Hearing him talk about Numb. I think that's the most prolonged/thoughtful I've ever heard him talk about his mental illness.

I like his comments and it is Always entertaining the way he presents something.

I also love that he does not disappear these days. However, most of the social media stuff is so superficial. FB and twiiter is for fast consumption and that's it. Despite we are few here it is still a bit old forum vibe and I enjoy it

That is a lovely thing to say Elisabeth :friends:

We like to keep it real on here ;)
