  • Updated sales here: Too Lost In You over half a mil to become their third biggest seller. Round Round just under the half mil at 499k

  • Stronger, Shape, In The Middle, Caught in a Moment and Red Dress should all be above Get Sexy! That whole Sweet 7 era needs erasing tbh. 🧙‍♀️

  • Some estimates for future certifications! Too Lost in You - Platinum - 600,000 - March 2026 Push the Button - 2xPlatinum - 1,200,000 - July 2026 Round Round - Platinum - 600,000 - September 2027 Abou

Looking at their album sales and wow 2.0 era really slayed!

Every studio album they released with that line up passing 800,000 sales! Very impressive.

Honestly, they should've tried to get Taller certified 3xPlatinum via shipments, but I assume they didn't see any need to.

I would love to know updated sales for the girls, I'm sure a few of their singles have shifted quite a few copies, and I'm intrigued to know how close TIMW is to triple platinum as it was very close.
Working on gathering some updates at the moment! :w00t:

The OCC wrote an article about the 18th anniversary of Round Round going to #1

They also said the album AWDF had sold 929,000 copies.

I went on to the wiki page for the album and the last OCC update was August 2018 which means the album has sold 3,000 copies in 2 years - quite a way off 1 million but still

Done, given they've got their name back now anyway!

Wow, it shouldn't be too long until it becomes their first "millionaire"!

The track was a huge hit, charging to Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart on its second week when it was made available to download, selling 34,000 copies. It had debuted at 35 the previous week on physical sales alone, common practice at the time for single releases during the handover in formats.

They've remembered this wrongly. It debuted at #35 because of a remix. It then moved up to #1 when the normal version of the song was released to download. The CD singles came out the day after About You Now reached #1, therefore contributing to its second week at #1 / third week in the chart.

"Physical sales alone [were a] common practice at the time" is not true. They've got it back to front, because more often than not, a song would initially be out on download only, and then a physical would follow a week later (sometimes longer). Sometimes they were released at the same time as each other. But in 2007, I don't think any chart hits were available physically before they were available digitally.

Surprisingly the best selling Sugababes singles list wasn't posted in here when the OCC published it in October 2019! :o

They revealed a Top 20 and gave sales for the Top 4 sellers:

01. About You Now 812,000

02. Push the Button 640,000

03. Freak Like Me 353,000

04. Too Lost In You 338,000

The following sales are estimates given by Shireblogger on Haven forums:

05. Round Round 335,000

06. Hole in the Head 280,000

07. Ugly 250,000

08. Girls 240,000

09. Get Sexy 215,000

10. Overload 210,000

11. About a Girl 170,000

12. Stronger / Angels With Dirty Faces 165,000

13. Walk This Way (with Girls Aloud) 155,000

14. Red Dress 150,000

15. Wear My Kiss 145,000

16. Change 130,000

17. Denial 120,000

18. New Year 115,000

He only revealed gave sales for the songs with over 100k, so these are my estimates for the final two:

19. Run For Cover 95,000

20. Shape 85,000

'In the Middle', 'Caught in a Moment', 'Easy' and 'No Can Do' are likely all in the region of 80k too, leaving 'Soul Sound' and 'Follow Me Home' which are probably still under 50k.

379k for 'Freak Like Me':

Freak Like Me was followed by five more Number 1s – Round Round (2002), Hole In The Head (2003), Push The Button (2005), Walk This Way (2007) and About You Now (2007). To date it's notched up 379,000 UK chart sales, including 7.7 million streams; and there's still plenty of love out there for it – last week the song was played 41,852 times in the UK.

https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/o...like-me__18932/

So, in about a year and a half Freak Like Me has "sold" around 25k? I guess it'll be about another year for it to hit Gold then.
