Yep, it's sold an average of 325 per week since October 2019, so should be Gold in July 2022 at that rate.

The OCC also revealed it was downloaded 12 times last week.

  • Updated sales here: Too Lost In You over half a mil to become their third biggest seller. Round Round just under the half mil at 499k

  • Stronger, Shape, In The Middle, Caught in a Moment and Red Dress should all be above Get Sexy! That whole Sweet 7 era needs erasing tbh. 🧙‍♀️

  • Some estimates for future certifications! Too Lost in You - Platinum - 600,000 - March 2026 Push the Button - 2xPlatinum - 1,200,000 - July 2026 Round Round - Platinum - 600,000 - September 2027 Abou

I hope we get an updated list of sales with them being back, only one I remember seeing recently was About You Now being at 908k.
Not the biggest update but last year OCC announced Angels album is at 929k and Round Round 277k.

I hope at least Freak Like Me can speed up the process to getting to Gold, although I suspect that their activities will probably help Overload the most.

I guess if New Year and Run For Cover could add some sales to their totals that would be nice - both are a long way from Silver though (~85k/~105k).

I need to give this thread a thorough update. Fear not it is on my very long list of things to get done now we're back!
I’ve tried to keep the thread updated for sales whilst it’s been in the chart forum, all the last confirmed sales are on the first page and recent estimates for the majority of their singles are on the previous page.
No problem! Fingers crossed we get another update from the OCC later in the year, preferably with more sales than just the Top 5. It would be nice to have an album update too, I’m sure they’ve not increased that much in the last decade but it would be good to just have everything as up to date as possible!
The only album that would've increased significantly is Overloaded - I assume it should be at least over 700k now?
Quite shocking to see Hole In The Head has such low sales, I know the sales climate around that era wasn't so strange in general but still. I have always seen it as one of their signature songs.

First week album sales:

5,510 One Touch (#77, 2000)

64,772 Angels With Dirty Faces (#2, 2002)

63,118 Three (#3, 2003)

65,781 Taller in More Ways (#1, 2005)

57,284 Overloaded: The Singles Collection (#3, 2006)

53,540 Changes (#1, 2007)

23,123 Catfights & Spotlights (#8, 2008)

11,234 Sweet 7 (#14, 2010)

Their first 6 albums all achieved higher sales later in their chart runs. Not sure what the peak sales were for 'One Touch' and 'Angels With Dirty Faces', but 'Three' sold just under 100k at #9 on Christmas week 2003, 'Taller in More Ways' sold an estimated 130k at #14 on Christmas week 2005, 'Overloaded' sold 98k at #16 on Christmas week 2006 and 'Changes' sold an estimated 59k at #21 on Christmas week 2007.

Yes I think that's right.

Insane how much the album market has changed.

Wild how few people now go on to sell a million copies.

I think it’s a shame the physical copy has died off somewhat but I do like having millions of songs at my fingertips

They have just achieved 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, probably for the first time ever? I remember them being stuck at around 2.6/2.8 million for absolute ages, so this is fantastic to see.

Will be interesting if any other songs get recognition again, be nice if some of their lesser known hits today can make some extra sales.

Run For Cover should at least be able to pass the 100k mark.

Unfortunately we haven't really had a solid sales update since 2009 so we don't really know how much streams their older singles "sell". rowork talked about trying to get sales info a while ago, but I assume the guy who gave us the Kylie updates never came back to him (to be fair, working at the OCC and being on a forum with chart nerds is like asking to be harrassed lol). Either way, it would be good if we could eventually get a full update and then get one maybe a year apart. It would really shed a light on how much they "sell" in streaming units on average.

Either way, based on Overload's certification it adds about ~19k units per year. Freak seemingly does slightly less, around ~17k, but of course these numbers fluctates but I think it's fair to say that their hits do around 15-20k with maybe Push The Button and About You Now being higher - I think About You Now adds something insane like 90k per year. Too Lost In You might also be a stand-out since it gets traction every Christmas.

Look at The drop in sales from About You Now to Change, 700k+.

Was it the wrong choice for second single?

I’d had gone with Never Gonna Dance Again or Mended By You (as the obligatory Christmas/winter ballad).

I don’t think so.

AYN was still flying high in the charts when Change was released. AYN was their biggest „hit“ and it’s really the first time they’ve had a follow up released while the lead off was still in the top half of the charts, or in the top 40 at all I think!

Regardless of what was released, it was always going to struggle behind AYN and when you look at their single sales I think AYN is the outlier rather than change underperforming. Numbers wise Change holds up well vs Round Round, Too Lost In You and Ugly
