Regardless of what was released, it was always going to struggle behind AYN and when you look at their single sales I think AYN is the outlier rather than change underperforming. Numbers wise Change holds up well vs Round Round, Too Lost In You and Ugly

Honestly, I do wonder if long-term About You Now hurt them more than it helped. I loathe the song and it's the one that made me completely give up on 3.0 as a viable line-up (I still stand by my first impression of it as a track that some random Disney tween would release), but I also can't help to think that while it might've turned off a lot of old fans (like me) but also that a lot of new fans that it might've gotten them were turned off by the fact that the album wasn't anything like it. Change ultimately did well enough off the back of About You Now, but at the same time it's a significant sales drop from Taller and of course Catfights just continued the downward spiral.

I seem to remember reading at the time that Kelly Clarkson knocked back About You Now for her third album (My December) when she wanted to go her own direction over her labels preferred direction. Funnily enough a can imagine Kelly doing a slight more pop/rock version:

Agreed. Girls Aloud suffered the same fate a year later when following up 'The Promise' with 'The Loving Kind'. I think another point to make is the transition into the download era; if this was still the physical era, I'm sure 'Change' would have achieved a great peak (particularly with the physical released in January) and be seen as more successful.

Are there any plans to update this with international peaks and sales?

About You Now is not that different from Kelly's My Life Would Suck Without You

Now that you mention it. They really aren’t that different.

I never noticed until now, they are a little similar.

Run For Cover should at least be able to pass the 100k mark.

 

Unfortunately we haven't really had a solid sales update since 2009 so we don't really know how much streams their older singles "sell". rowork talked about trying to get sales info a while ago, but I assume the guy who gave us the Kylie updates never came back to him (to be fair, working at the OCC and being on a forum with chart nerds is like asking to be harrassed lol). Either way, it would be good if we could eventually get a full update and then get one maybe a year apart. It would really shed a light on how much they "sell" in streaming units on average.

 

Either way, based on Overload's certification it adds about ~19k units per year. Freak seemingly does slightly less, around ~17k, but of course these numbers fluctates but I think it's fair to say that their hits do around 15-20k with maybe Push The Button and About You Now being higher - I think About You Now adds something insane like 90k per year. Too Lost In You might also be a stand-out since it gets traction every Christmas.

Hoping the OCC give us a more thorough overview of their Top 20 singles, as well as the albums, nearer the re-release of One Touch.

In 2019, it was #4 in their Top 20, but clearly, it has now overtaken Freak Like Me (last update for this was 379,000, April 2021).
