AGLM vinyl should be an easy sell (to a niche market). WTYSL is well remembered and it has 3 other hits on it. She really should try and get her 3 other albums printed of say 1k cds each to sell on her webstore too.

Sadly I don't think any of their studio albums will reach those targets any time soon. To the point we might not see it happen until the 2040s, lol, unless a reunion gives their music a very impactful

I'd say as far as solo hits go it's probably:

When You're Gone

I Turn To You

Never Be The Same Again

What Took You So Long?

I'm guessing the fact that WTYSL? is very radio friendly is why it's still selling. Geri's hits are, unfortunately, very dated and I think people will always pick The Weather Girls over her version of It's Raining Men.

Kind of? Geri's It's Raining Men does very well on streaming, much better than WTYSL...

I would say it goes like this

I Turn To You

Never Be The Same Again

It's Raining Men

What Took You So Long?

Having said that, it would be amazing to check on how much Mel C's catalogue gained from last years Mel Cs promos... I know she was focusing on new album/era but surely the new streaming potential that she has (not amazing but better) should have given her some sales from her previous music too?

Would be great to check the new totals :P

I'd agree with this too. Maybe 'Mi Chico Latino' after 'What Took You So Long?'.

Increase in sales (the old figures were posted by the OCC in June 2017

What I Am - 10k (3.5 years)

What Took You So Long - 26k (3.5 years)

What I Am

224,000 (June 2017)

234,000 (January 2021)

What Took You So Long

269,000 (June 2017)

295,000 (January 2021)

:cheer:

Does ITTY outperform NBTSA on streaming?

NBTSA did outsell ITTY when released.

NBTSA is the best seller but on streaming it goes

NBTSA - 18.4 million

ITTY - 22.6 million (Both the album version and Hex Hector remix)

Spotify (worldwide figures) I Turn to You has managed more streams:

I Turn to You

14,467,309 - Album Version

8,200,0284 - Hex Hector Radio Mix

22,667,593 overall

Never Be the Same Again

18,447,824 - Album Version

2,034,642 - Single Mix

20,482,466 overall

YouTube:

16,396,133 views - Never Be the Same Again

14,940,589 views - I Turn to You

The total sales on 8th May 2020 were:

465,263 - Never Be the Same Again

422,048 - I Turn to You

Which is a difference of 43,215 sales.

In 2009 it was 401,767 NBTSA / 360,477 ITTY (41,290 difference), so NBTSA is still doing slightly better!

I can't imagine how excited Jay got when he saw sales needed comparing! Needs breakdown of things.

I think NBTSA seems cooler these days than ITTY.

It's what I live for :cheeseblock:

I thought... “awaiting Jay’s breakdown”

Thank you, Jay for the breakdown. Much appreciated :)

I wish they'd done a full sales update. Fingers crossed we get a SG one in July.

Finally the GP is catching up with TASTE!! :yahoo:

It is always funny to me that I Turn To You has so many streams on two very different songs versions when only one of them is the well known one and is the only one that gets playlisted. So it shows that there is quite a lot of demand for that one song on Spotify as it is listened much more than NBTSA is...

I might be reading it wrong but always thought that was pretty cool

Would be interesting to see where Goodbye is sales wise now, 2 months after the last update. It seemed to get the most traction I'd seen it over this Christmas.

They have but it’s still published in UKChartsPlus! Mod Edit: Post moved from Melanie C chart topic

Do you have Scottish and Welsh chart run of the BBC single and the Christmas song of Lemon?

Maybe the Lemon one did not chart.

Neither of these showed up in the Scottish or Welsh charts! I think both charts have become physical charts, which is a bit odd.

Wonder how Northern Star appeared on there? Some random left over single in a HMV 🤣
