I think the first part of the sentence makes sense as it is a matter of taste. But Holler's chances of long-lasting success was really damaged by the way it was released - with little promotion - and how it was received by the industry and press who were adamant they were finished.

Had Holler been released in 1999, it would have probably sold much more as perceptions about the band were less violent.

I think the proof of it is how it is received everytime they do it on tour - always a highlight - and the fact that it has gone viral a few times since the streaming era. But it gets played little attention by the record label and the girls themselves, whereas No Scrubs and Say My Name are the 'Wannabe' of TLC and Destiny's Child.
