Posted September 21, 20177 yr kt0g4dWxEBo I love this song now and I really think it gets a harsh treatment by stans/casual fans! :( I hated this until the ANTI tour for some reason (I don't get why I hated it lmao, it's a pretty inoffensive song ) then it really clicked there for me and was one of my highlights of the night. It's easy to forget how much FFS (pretty sure that abbreviation summed up my feelings when that was her comeback :')) was a hit, I did think it wasn't something remembered well by the GP but it's still in her top 10 on Spotify so idk What are your opinions on 'FourFiveSeconds'? Is it underrated? Discuss <3
September 22, 20177 yr Always adored it and it's firmly in my RiRi top 5. I find it ridiculously anthemic and so fun to sing along to! The Grammy's performance was outstanding.
September 22, 20177 yr It's definitely underappreciated, especially as it was the first new solo material in over two years when it was released. Although I think "Bitch Better Have My Money" deserves the success that this got :( I'm glad that this wasn't representative of the direction she was going in for ANTI though.
September 22, 20177 yr No, there's absolutely nothing redeemable about it. It sounds like 3 immensely pissed people that went into the studio at 4am and just knocked up a random jam.
September 22, 20177 yr Definitely underrated! I always forget how well it did though, it hung around for quite a while. Surprised to see it on the million ‘sellers’ list :o Amazing. I still love it. I was bound to love it with my two absolute favourites collaborating but it’s not what I imagined at all and I love how unexpected this sound was for her big comeback. Still not over this and BBHMM not being on any album 😭😭😭
September 22, 20177 yr Author I definitely wouldn't have wanted this for R8 but it'd be amazing if Rih did a whole album of folky, country songs *.* FourFiveSeconds doing so well shows there's definitely an audience for it, I guess you could say it was her comeback so it was always going to smash but if it wasn't a genuinely popular song it wouldn't have spent such a sustained run in the top 10 surely  No, there's absolutely nothing redeemable about it. It sounds like 3 immensely pissed people that went into the studio at 4am and just knocked up a random jam. That whole 'raw' vibe to the song is one of my favourite things about it tbh, it brought a whole new feeling to her music and a similar thing shines through for me in ANTI's 'Never Ending'
October 11, 20195 yr Idk. In terms of sales I’d say no because it’s one of her highest sellers. But I do feel it’s a bit less remembered in general than some of her songs what have lower sales totals. I love the track when I hear it but rarely go back to it.
October 11, 20195 yr I think it's rated just fine, it did well chart wise. BBHMM is underrated though and had the video been out sooner would have been a much bigger hit.
