How popular were xmas songs on 1st December last year? Surely they weren't quite as big? I'm sure during the week they will fall a decent bit. It's just people putting up xmas trees and xmas parties at the weekend. Perfect looking likely to be no1 with decent sales now, will be an nice xmas no1, and the battle between him and the XF winner should be decent next week too!
LORD at Ed Sheeran. I’m so pissed that RAYE has been pushed out of the top 50.

I wouldn't worry it's the sort of song that'll jump hugely in January!

Is Snowman Sias highest track?

134. Sia - Santa's Coming For Us

Does seem harder for newer Xmas songs to break through given the love for the Christmas classics - was hoping Sia, Tom Chaplin & Gwen Stefani would be higher.

1 Dec 2016

Mariah Carey was No.6

The Pogues at No.18

Wham! at No.24

so there has been a huge surge this December 1st this year.

Thanks a bigger boost, Christmas dayesque but they were doing well the last few years too!

What might be surprising is how Wham! has overtaken The Pogues as the No.2 Christmas song in the UK, even before George Michael's death it had crept ahead by Christmas Day last year.

I seen that, think it's more complicated mainly because of the fact that Wham is more popular on spotify as worldwide trends make songs popular everywhere. The Pogues is more of a uk/Ireland xmas track!
Given Mariah is already #1 on the first day of December, SURELY she could have a strong chance of Christmas #1 this year?! I'd love to see her block "Perfect" from it
