Couldn't agree more blacksquare! Ru symbolises the discord between the older and younger generation, he expects everyone else's experiences as a drag queen to be the same as his. Yes he went through hardships in a "harder" time when he started out, but he seems to measure them by him and where he is now. The path he took is just one, there's queens from all around the country, from all kinds of backgrounds, who have had all kinds of experiences, and really only The Vixen can speak out hers even if it's not done in the best way. As somebody who's had such a varied, trailblazing career and had so many experiences that have led to him being in the position he is, it is beyond frustrating that Ru never seems to particularly care about why the more problematic queens might be how they are, and never sees the different experiences they must have had leading up to THEIR career and THEIR reality.

I must say that the final performance was a mess, too much going on and couldn't focus in any of them.

Really disappointing set of lipsyncs in general, obviously Asia's butterfly saga was a mess (I felt so bad but the close-ups!!!! lmaooo), Kamerion was solid in Nasty, Eureka objectively won If I guess but ofc they couldn't have eliminated Aquaria there. The last one was just so anticlimactic, Aquaria is the only one who really tried as Eureka was basically just walking and Kameron was just kind of there.

 

SUPER happy with Aquaria anyway, it couldn't have been anyone else really! A true all-rounder who went on such a journey and surprised us all, one of the best fashion queens but hilarious too and a great performer.

Oh god I cringed at Asia's butterfly reveal like WHY did you think that would be a good idea (!!! At Kameron's face when she say she killed some) I imagine this is PETA writing their angry tweet now:

 

 

But I am thrilled with Aquaria winning I actually liked Kameron in both lip sync she did. Boot to Eureka though.

The Butterfly reveal has been heavily edited down thank god. Basically they were dancing on looooooads of dead butterflies, they just all fell out of her tiddies dead. Also in the first Aquaria Vs Eureka Aquaria fell over a couple of times .

I'm watching the final now... Kameron's interview is very distracting in that he keeps looking off into the distance - its very odd.

 

She doesn't even look at Ru... at all?

....I'm guessing what they wanted was Aquaria and Eureka as the final 2 as Kameron seemed a bit redundant come the final lip sync.

 

I think Aquaria was really the only worthy winner in the end and was the one that slayed that final lip sync.

 

Asia and the butterflies... a serious WTF moment

I really liked the finale. Kameron was really good in both lip syncs and I LOVED Eureka vs Aquaria. Both were fighting so hard and loved Eureka's kick into splits into death drop combo thing. The final lip sync was great as well. I'm happy Aquaria won. I am also OVER THE MOON that Monet won Miss Congeniality :wub:

I'm so happy that Aquaria won! :wub: She was my favourite all season long and I'm so pleased that she grew to be the majority of others' favourite as well after a slow start.

 

I watched the finale on a really poor quality stream so couldn't actually see what had happened during Asia's lipsync until the close-up shots. Thank god that she was out before the final three though, she was the one that I was most worried about taking the crown over Aquaria, despite not getting the hype over her AT ALL.

 

Overall it wasn't my favourite season of Drag Race but it was the first one that I watched as it came out and there were definitely enough diverse queens to warrant its status for years to come.

Obviously they were asked to vote fairly last minute, I feel like Cracker saw there was a bit of pro-Vixen 'woke' support building and voted that way because she thought it would look good. Not at all saying they weren't friends, we know they were, and by all means acknowledge she was an important character but.... you can't change a definition. That's not what congenial means.

Well when regular people hack the vote; what can they do?

Miss Congeniality shouldn't be fan fave though, I think they should have two awards and the queens vote for Miss C and then we vote for fan favourite. The queens see the whole experience and go through it together, I think they should be the ones who decide who's been congenial and deserves it. Pretty much all the time, the fan fave is also congenial but the two are not the same thing and I think it makes sense to have both, I don't see why not.
